This afternoon I ticked over the 100 000 Hive Power mark and it has been a long dream of mine for many years full of struggles along the way. I would not change a single thing as sometimes challenges are better the tougher they are. This has not been easy and has been the hardest challenge I have ever undertaken. Growth on Hive happens continuously, but starting out with a 0 balance does take enormous effort. This 100K HP has all been earned so if I can do this anyone can as long as they remain consistent and be themselves and not someone they are not.
I joined Hive on the 12 March 2018 little did I know how something so innocuous would change my life. Let us put it this way you lifestyle tends to change and Hive becomes a part of your every day life whether you like it or not.
Due to staring out with a 0 balance and seeing how far everyone else was being a good year ahead of me I decided to try and catch that time up. I guessed most were spending 4 hours a day on Hive so the crazy idea was to do 8 hours every day whilst still having a normal job. This did work even though it nearly broke me in the process which was one of those good crazy ideas that paid off.
I was account number 828 518 starting out and now number 173 by HP ranking and rather quite chaffed with what has gone down over the last five and a half years. This is a proper journey and one we should all be enjoying no matter whether you are just starting out or been here for a number of years. The having fun part being part of the community is what defines your experiences and why everyone should try and get involved in some way.
If we dig deeper into the numbers I find them a little staggering and this is what it takes I suppose to reach this milestone. Some may do it quicker but everyone grows at different rates and I am happy with the 66 month time scale knowing how slow things start out in the beginning. That was the hardest time for myself as each and every day was a struggle.
3766 Posts is insane for someone who hated to write, but now enjoys it and finds it kind of therapeutical. Writing has helped me discover more about myself that I did not know and through writing can help solve problems systematically. Some of the more enjoyable topics are the ones you research as you are learning at the same time.
23640 comments should be more if I am brutally honest but through time constraints those have dropped off from the early days. Maintaining such high numbers starting out is always going to be a lost battle and this is the important part of growing your Hive account which cannot be over looked.
I joined at the back end of a bull cycle when prices were dropping like a hammer and was utterly clueless what I had signed up for. realising I needed to be noticed and having no vote value the only real tool to use was myself. Having a goal of 40 comments per day minimum and decent comments at that so that meant reading a minimum of 40 posts and leaving a comment in relation to the post. This made me stand out and over time picked up some followers who many are what I would call friends today. Through reading you get to know people and their characteristics which is kind of a fun aspect.
I hope my story inspires others to go on and achieve their goals as they are not easy and why they are called goals. Just keep going and you will be surprised what can be achieved.
