I haven't done one of these posts for a while as it takes time to hit the milestones. I have just ticked over the 40 000 Hive mark which is great but still no where near the proposed target. That will take years and happy to do it as I am in no rush. Literally I am not even at 5% of my goal and I have been active every day for over 30 months so there is a way to go yet. This is fun and don't see this as a chore so rather the exact opposite.
The worrying thing is when I first joined Hive I was account number 828,518 and in my head thinking yet again late to the party by a year or two. My problem is I am ranked number 400 now so where is everyone else? I would be far happier if I was ranked 150 000 or something as that means there is a thriving community growing and staking.
Lately I have been going through the communities and seeing what is happening and there are a lot of the same users. There is nothing wrong with that but it just gives the impression that the community is not quite as big as I once imagined.
I know that when the price drops for some crazy reason people become less active and some become more active which is the right way to think. Always do a little more when the place is quieter as it will pay off at some point. That is the thought process anyway and it is true as many established older accounts will tell you the exact same thing. Why even look at the price if you are thinking long term and if it is effecting you then you are kidding yourself about what is long term.
I have joined multiple tribes and have added some more just to keep my feed ticking over which has never been the case as it wasn't as noticeable as it is now. Using peakd you have your communities feed and it kind of highlights that no one is around or very few people are. Friday night has never been a busy night statistically I know, but still it is sad to see.
I actually don't even want to know how many unique active users we have currently as I think those numbers could be rather depressing. At one stage the number I recall was around the 14 000 mark but that could be way off as I believe from what I am seeing it could be less than half that currently. I may be way wrong and truthfully hope I am but somehow I don't think so.
We need something to happen soon and am quietly confident that the Metamask thing with Leo can bring in some much needed new blood. I still cant believe over 800 000 members have left this place with what is on offer today. That part doesn't make any sense in my head no matter how tough things are too earn in the beginning.
