Bitcoin is making a slow and steady run-up "Bullrun" lately and it is now trying to surpass the $11,700 price level which is a resistance level at this point judging by the fact that it had crossed it many times over. Bitcoin even had touched above 12K but maybe people had bought at that level had to sell so that they would not feel a loss and also probably had bought more when the price went down a few hundred dollars down.
But bitcoin has a finite supply because it is written in its coding. It halves every four years which just means that the rewards in mining gets lesser by half. So it is the number one factor in determining its price. Also a few big entities are buying Bitcoin because they know that its value will go up in the future and it is a win move because their money will not only gain value with bitcoin but also it is being hedged or protected from the inflation of FIAT money.
Bitcoin is the number one for me to invest into because it is certain that its price will rise because of many factors. New investors comes into the crypto world everyday, some are discovering Bitcoin and just tries to get some for their own investment thereby causing more scarcity on the coin. That is why in time BTC will fulfill the predictions and it only will take time which is why if you put money on BTC you will get dividends in the future.
I also had put up some BTC to be used if I no longer have any funds anymore and I will try not to use it for as long as I can do it because time does make the price of BTC go up. Waiting until it goes to the level that it is enough to sustain my needs after some point in my life. It gives me now some sense of security which is why BTC should be in everyone's portfolio especially if they wanted your financial future to look brighter.
