Role-based simulation games are perfect with blockchain technology. One reason is that value that has monetary impact can be transferred between players readily.
There are already several such games in Hive. For example, dCrops is simulating farming, Cryptobrewmaster is simulating beer brewing production, and dCity is simulating the running of a city. I personally play the soccer management game called Rabona, and love it!
Here is a game idea that I think will blow up big time and give Hive the newfound fame to supercharge adoption:
A Simulation Game about Managing a Blockchain/Crypto Project!
Those of us dabbling in this space long enough would be familiar with how crypto projects are started and how they can progressed through. Some flourished, and some failed, amidst the naturally occurring market forces.
This entire process can be a simulation game that has great educational value in promoting crypto/blockchain education!
In the process of playing the game, as the gamer takes on the role of managing the growth of the blockchain project, the game presents rich opportunities to learn about valuing and assessing crypto projects. For example, one can learn how token distribution and novelty of the service provided in relation to the crowdedness of the space affect project survival. There are other variables that can be infused into the game that can serve to educate crypto enthusiasts about how projects might turn out.
When education can be delivered through such a game, it is going to help demystify what is currently incorrectly construed out there and help the masses learn more about blockchain and the crypto revolution.
I know of similar simulation games related to the blockchain/crypto theme. For instance, Blockchain Tycoon is a game where one can build and manage mining operations, and simulate coin creation, mining, investing and HODLing. Another is a game used in university classes called the The Blockchain Simulation Game. Currently, none of these games are in the form of blockchain games and have the play-to-earn mechanism.
Certainly, I found no such game in Hive.
Someone should seriously think about creating this.
Games in Hive have a certain advantage in that there is an in-house blogging platform that encourages experience sharing by rewarding posts which will further fuel interest. It already has past successes in games such as Splinterland, which suggests that the platform is technologically right for such a game.
I am aware of the possibility of putting up a proposal for funding to actualize such a game in Hive.
Unfortunately, my bandwidth is limited. I would be happy if someone reading this would agree with me, and help make this post viral.
Hopefully, someday someone would pick up this idea and materialize it. I would be glad to receive some game tokens to try it out first!
It will be good for Hive and promote blockchain education.
