Yeah, auto-vote totally stifles user engagement. I would feel less inclined to post quality content or any content if I just thought a bot-farm would come in to upvote me since I wouldn't accept or feel that my work was really valued, just that people wanted to cash-in on my value without reading my post.

It would also lead me to devalue manual votes because I would suspect that people were auto-voting unless they actually commented.
