Beim Mähen an einem Wasserreservoir im sächsischen Bannewitz machte ein Gemeinde-Mitarbeiter im Oktober einen spektakulären Fund: Acht kleine Goldbarren kamen unter dem frisch gemähten Gras zum Vorschein. Wie der MDR berichtete, tauchten kurz darauf noch zwei weitere auf. Insgesamt wiegt das Gold rund 280 Gramm und wird auf etwa 40.000 Euro geschätzt.
Ermittler prüfen zwei letzte Hinweise, bevor das Gold an die Gemeinde geht
Nach deutschem Recht hat ein unbekannter Eigentümer sechs Monate Zeit, seinen Anspruch zu belegen, wie der MDR schreibt. In der Gemeinde, die südwestlich von Dresden liegt, meldeten sich zwar mehrere Personen, doch niemand konnte seinen Anspruch auf das Gold überzeugend nachweisen. Damit darf die Gemeinde den Fund nun offiziell behalten.
Zu viel Bürokratie: Bürgermeister will Goldbarren lokalen Vereinen aushändigen
Ganz ungelegen kommt das dem parteilosen Bürgermeister Heiko Wersig und seiner Gemeinde nicht – es soll nun den lokalen Vereinen zugutekommen. Am 28. April will der Gemeinderat entscheiden, welche Vereine vom Fund profitieren. „Es wäre schön, wenn dann das Gold in einem Zug an diese geht“, sagte Wersig zu „Tag24“.
Zehn der 52 örtlichen Vereine sollen je einen Goldbarren erhalten, den sie selbst verkaufen können. Aus Sicherheitsgründen möchte Wersig die Barren nicht im Rathaus lagern, ein Verkauf durch die Gemeinde wäre zu bürokratisch. Vor Bekanntgabe erklärte der Bürgermeister bereits die Richtung der Vereine, die profitieren sollen:
„Alle, die mit Kinder- und Jugendarbeit zu tun haben. Und die, die sonst nichts bekommen.“*

Solch einen Fund habe ich leider noch nicht gemacht. Ich bin mir allerdings sicher um positive Karmapunkte zu sammeln hätte ich diesen Fund auch gemeldet. 😉

According to German law, an unknown owner has six months to prove their claim, as MDR reports. Although several people in the municipality, located southwest of Dresden, came forward, no one could convincingly prove their claim to the gold. Therefore, the municipality is now officially allowed to keep the find.
Too much bureaucracy: Mayor wants to hand over gold bars to local clubs
This comes at a convenient time for the independent mayor, Heiko Wersig, and his municipality – the gold is intended to benefit local clubs. The municipal council will decide on April 28 which clubs will profit from the find. “It would be wonderful if the gold went to them all at once,” Wersig told Tag24.
Ten of the 52 local clubs are to receive a gold bar each, which they can then sell themselves. For security reasons, Wersig doesn't want to store the bars in the town hall; selling them through the municipality would be too bureaucratic. Before the announcement, the mayor explained which clubs would benefit:
“All those involved in children's and youth work. And those that otherwise receive nothing.”*
