For days now, I have been so busy that I always end up sleeping off when I start listening to the "How to keep your community engaged after Mint recap show, it's not been easy but thankfully after a good rest, I decided to listen to it and write a recap on it.
So, the show was all about how one can keep his or her community engaged or busy after the mint and it was said that the only person who can do that is the FOUNDER of the community and that means;
- Chasing consistency even in the mint stage helps keep people in the community, it doesn't have to be something bogus or real, just something interesting
- Basically keeping the community busy until he or she can deliver on their promise to the community members. If they are not keeping the community busy, the engagement in the community falls.
- Keeping the vibes high which means he or she has to be consistent with whatever they are doing and that helps you keep the people there. Which, they don't back down, even though it is going to take a month, all they have to do is keep the vibes going.
- Setting clear expectations of what your plan is in the community, this involves the timeline, and where the community is headed.
- Letting the community figure out what they want to do, and how they want to do their thing.
- Being honest about everything and not just being all over the place.
- It is also said that every community starts with the founder and as such, his presence affects others because he is the leader and as such should lead from the front row. His presence motivates others because he is at the front and always at the front.
- A founder should be in the habit of recognizing the work of the community people, making people feel valued which encourages engagement, following every single person who tweets and thinks about his project positively also helps keep engaged even after the mints.
- Founders during the mint period, tend to oversell and overhype what they are selling, and as such at the end of the mint, they can't keep to the expectations and they tend to not live up to the expectations.
- Keeping things clear as a founder helps them not to go for the high-high, so they don't end up in the low-low when the mint starts.
The reason why there is a fall-off is that when the founder is not there, leading at the front end, being consistent, and encouraging others, it is always so hard to establish why they are in the community.
Why there is a fall-off because the founder often tends to tell the holders what to do, instead of leading by example.
Most times the founder tends to not be clear about his expectations and at the end of the day does not honestly lay out his expectations to the community, so the holders know what is coming or what they should expect from you and the community.
At the end of the day, I realized that the founders have a lot of roles to play in their community especially in the consistent engagement of their community before and after the mint, so it does not fall out or shut down after the mint and it will be interesting if all the founders of community get to listen to the show or where present at the show.
