These are interesting times in the World. For a moment over the last 48 hours we saw the real possibility of Putin being toppled, or a possible civil war in Russia with unknown but certainly undesirable consequences for both the Russian people and around the World. I had come across various reactions from across several ends of the political divide around the World, and no matter the reasons, Civil War is never a good idea, and almost always brings more terror than people bargain.
Take a look round the World and the evidence is quite apparent. From Libya, Yemen, Ukraine, Ethiopia (Tigray) and a host of other nations trapped in this predicament, death and suffering is what it brings. I don't know if conflict is sometimes inevitable or justified but the consequences are too grave not to explore all possible solutions for peace in my view. This isn't what this post is about though, but I think it's worth mentioning because of some important details.
According to reports, the Wagner Mercenary army that advanced on Moscow after taking Rostov was about 25000 or so strong. When you consider the Russian army it seems like a small number, but the success of the advancements (apparently got within 200km of Moscow) then decided to make a turnaround, showed two possible things to me - the possible fracture in the Russian Military chain of command and the danger a small but resolute force can truly pose.
Now Back to Hive
If we're talking about success, size certainly matters. We see it in the commercial front, with the way Big Tech has simply swallowed lots of smaller companies. We also see it in the political space as most elections are decided by a majority. However, size is not the only element to consider as it can crumble if it isn't held by strong fundamentals. Unity is such a strength that a very successful movie (300) captured one of the greatest presentations about it.
Hive may be small in current size, but it certainly is quite unified in purpose. We are a small minority in terms of scope right now, but for how long will that be the case? If we keep the development and energy levels up it is only a Matter of time before we eventually get noticed or force some recognition. I have absolutely no fear about the future of the platform as long as the community speaks with one voice. Even if growth is slow and frustrating, it is revered and secure.
Conclusion
Unity equals resilience and sacrifice. One person may be limited in scope but a bunch of people working together in unity can achieve almost anything. Hive has survived this long because of its community and will continue to do so. Not only survive, but we'll eventually start thriving when the time is right.
