Who would've thought a time would come when we'd miss the reassurances of Established media outlets as reporting the cold hard truths. The last week or so has simply been chaotic in the social media space as all stakeholders and participants alike have ultimately decided to control the narrative in the ongoing Conflict in the Middle East.
Whatever opinions we have about the War is going to be either reinforced or shattered by the narrative that's out there and everyone is fully aware of that. By everyone I mean The Warring nations, Religious sects, Politicians, Media, attention farmers and many more. We're going to be fed information and narratives that would have lasting implications long after the direct conflict is over.
As a result of this there is a plethora of fake and unverified information out there. This is particularly endemic to the Twitter or X space. Accounts running an agenda or with little concern about reputation carry misinformation and downright false information as facts. The purpose of this action may differ depending on the account in question but it usually has its desired effect on an audience seeking to purchase anything as truth.
It's no wonder that these times many turn back to more established media who have been under fire the lase couple of years for being heavily partisan. Regardless of this, traditional media and anyone who seeks real relevancy in the future should think twice about running false information through their platforms.
In times like this we consumers of information must show restraint and skepticism so we don't simply lean into our own bias until the facts are established.
