Paul Krugman author of the phrase "fortune favors the brave" reappeared with an opinion piece he uploaded in the New York Times assuring that if digital currencies are strictly regulated then they would end up in oblivion.
Paul Krugman is a famous economist and Nobel Prize winner in his field back in 2008, and this time he assures that it is possible that the virtual currency "will not survive" a possible regulation by governments.
According to his vision, he believes that if the U.S. decides to establish regulations, it would prevent them from promising impossible returns and it would be difficult to find any advantage that traditional banks do not already offer.
For Krugman, cryptocurrencies have become everything they hated, i.e. a system of financial intermediaries whose ability to operate depends on the trust they project.
