It happens on the 15th of every month - Leo Power Up day (LPUD). Some members of our Leo verse already have this date mentally set in their mind. Some already have started a countdown. At any rate, LPUD remains an important event for everyone here in the community. And with just 4 days separating us from the second power up event for the year, the enthusiasm building for this event is quite understandable.
We have reasons for everything and so should it be for LPUD. For the uninformed mind reading this post, LPUD is a monthly event where everyone tries to power up some LEO - our community token. By so doing, we not only increase our stake in the community. So the important question i want to answer here is Why participate in LPUD every 15th of each month? Here is why.
Why be a part of each LPUD event?
- Grow your influence in the community: When you power up, you increase how much influence you have in Leo finance. By influence, I mean you ability to increase or reduce posts rewards through voting. When you publish posts, you expect other members to vote them so you can earn. Without Leo power, it becomes impossible to add meaningful value through curation. Basically the more Leo Power you accumulate, the more value you vote with. That is your influence in the community. Big accounts have big leo powers which is why they are able to vote with big values. But there is more.
When you vote a post, you earn curation rewards. The amount of rewards paid is calculated based on how much Leo Power you hold. The bigger the better. So to earn more curation rewards, you get involved on regularly powering up your Leo - in addition to participating in LPUD event for each month. So power up to grow your voting power and also increase your curation rewards. These are reasons not to miss any LPUD for each month.
- Investment opportunity: Crypto investment is the new big way to build wealth and grow your finance. Traditional banking systems have failed users obviously. You can find a thousand and one articles that describe the benefits of getting involved in crypto. Powering up is a great opportunity to do crypto investment. The rewards of investing in crypto are many. That includes making profit when the crypto market price rises - we usually call it the bull market.
LPUD presents an opportunity for you to invest steadily and periodically. It comes up on the 15th of every month. There are 12 months in a year. So if you stick to this power up calender, you have saved or invested some funds 12 times in a year. In many places, savings and investment is are not popular. But LPUD has created that savings culture which remains consistent only if you prepare and participate. So see this as another opportunity to put something away for a rainy day. The accumulated funds become so valuable on a rainy day, or at the end of a long period.

For me, that is what it is. I hold a lot of other cryptos in various wallets. Leo is just another one of my portfolio.
So when you power up your Leo, it adds to the number of cryptos in your portfolio. The benefits of not putting all your eggs in one basket still applies here. For example, not all your cryptos will perform the same way. While some might go up and create profit for you, others might struggle due to market volatility. Whatever happens, your wealth is more balance and better able to navigate a crypto bear market if they are fairly spread across various portfolios.

The leo team in my opinion deserves some support for all that they have done. One way to support them is by powering up. The more we all power up, the more our community gets stronger and the more we have community-driven projects. So if you struggle to find a reason to power up, see it as your contribution to the Leo ecosystem. We should be winning and growing together in that manner.
