Around this time each year, people set goals for the incoming year. The idea is to lay down some projects or tasks that must be accomplished by the end of a fresh year. So when I saw that the Leo team are forward-minded to ask us to set goals for 2023, I was excited. You should have seen the announcement post. If you haven't, check it out here.
How to become a Leader of the Pack by 31/12/2023
I want to become a Leader of the Pack by 31st December, 2023. Already, it took me 2 months to attain my current Lion status (15k LP) in the Leoverse. I bought and powered 5k and 10k Leo on November and December LPUD respectively. With the year ending in few days time, I know that I am done.
So how do I push it from 15k LP to 50k LP in 2023? Below is my strategy of raising 35k Leo from the activities listed below:
- Buy Leo
- HBD Swap from Savings
- Delegation Reward
- Curation Reward
- Leo Author Reward
- HBD Author Rewards
Alright. So lets get into a little more detail now.
Buy Leo (Amount = 25k Leo)
You can see from my power ups in November and December that this is my main strategy. I use Fiat and buy Leo. Its easier for me as I will raise the funds from my other businesses to finance the Leo purchase. So each month, I will buy at least 2,083 Leo. If I do that from January till December without missing any month, I would have purchased 25k Leo. That is that for the first and main activity for me.
HBD Swap from Savings (Amount = 5k Leo )
You can see I have 2083 HBD in savings. That would at least 34 SBD per Month. Out of this amount, I plan to swap 20 HBD per month, from January to December. That gives 204 HBD. Lets Swap to Hive and to LEO as follows:
So that gives 823 Hive. We can go on to Swap that to Leo as seen below:
So we have 5072 Leo. So am able to reach and surpass the target of 5k Leo from my HBD savings. Now lets move on.
Delegation Reward (2.5k Leo)
The above is my daily LEO bounties from the 2500 HP I delegated to 
Curation Reward (1.5k Leo)
Curation reward is another income that is not under one's control. I make at least 1 post per day - that's 7 in a week in the community. But then votes are not guaranteed. But as a Lion in the community already and writing two posts that are supported by the Leo team per month, am sure I can earn at up to 29 LEO per week. So that is 29 X 52 = 1500 Leo per annum.
Note: One of my posts just paid out 34 Leo this week, so 29 from 7 posts is realistic.
HBD Author Rewards (1.25k Leo)
Another activity that is entirely up to the community to determine. But then, No matter how bad it gets, I can always earn and power 5 HBD equivalent of LEO in a month. That is 60 HBD in a year.
Using the conversion rates above, 60 HBD is at least equal to 200 hive. 200 Hive swaps from 1,250 LEO.
Curation Reward (1k Leo)
I am on a 40k Delegation from the team which would likely be taken away after 25 days. So basically, I will like to estimate based on what is mine - 15k LP. I curate at least 10 posts per day and leave my VP at 80% or more. I can comfortably earn 19 Leo per week from curation - based on my own 15k LP and not the total 55k LP I have now. So there are 52 weeks in a year. So 19.2 x 52 will give me 1000 Leo.
Am sure it should be bigger than this. But then when making a plan based on stuffs like this, its best to user the smallest figures
Summary
So this table below show summarizes the activities and targets for each, towards realizing 35k Leo by 2023 year end.

Note: For each month starting from January, I have tasked myself with the figures above to power up at least 35,000/12 = 2,916 Leo. With that, I will attain the goal by year end - Yes, I want to amass a cumulative 50k LP and become a Leader of the Pack.
Role of a Leader of the Pack/ Why I care
A leader of the Pack is such an important role in the Leoverse, which is why they are expected to accumulate at least 50k LP. Some of the roles include the following:
- Selects and submits excellent posts made by Lions in the community for curation
- Serve as a moderator for any of the community pages if they wish
- Have up to 4 of their quality posts submitted for curation
- Can run and sponsor contests in the community
- Be part of the team that writes 'The Daily Leo' publication
- Plus all the roles of Newborn Cub, Cub and Lion as mentioned in this post
The above is not an exhaustive list, but represents all the important work done by a Leader of the Pack to support the smooth-running of the community. Those are really important work, are they not? I really want to contribute my best for the growth and progress of Leo Finance community. I believe in what this team is capable of doing, which is why I am keen to become a Leader of the Pack. I want to make my own contribution and become part of the Leo Finance success story.
Of course, there are rewards for working hard and reaching out to do more for the community. That is another motivation for me to aim at, and hope to accomplish this goal.
The Leo Finance team have demonstrated over the years that they are capable of driving growth in the web3 space through sustainable projects. Even with the bear market bringing many crypto projects to a crawl or halt, the Leo team continues to work on existing and new projects for the benefit of all crypto users and investors. Their track record of success shows that trusting Leo with our investments is simply effort in the right direction.
I am confident that whatever happens, I will achieve growth and succeed with my investments. I therefore call on all, who have a long-term vision for growth to get involved with the Leo team and support them. Together, we can build a Leo community we can be proud of, and even attract more external investment.
Conclusion
I love exceeding my expectations. I have done that before and take pride in doing it again. I will be sure to follow the above goals to at least the minimum figures mentioned above. But of course, I should do more - I can. So we will see how to kick it off by 31st January, 2023.
