While PEPE remains the meme coin that the crypto community has locked their focus onto, remember it was actually the Swole Doge meme coin that would have made you the most money last week.
There’s been some great chat in the comments section of my blog this week on the PEPE meme coin and why it’s so popular.
But talk about Swole Doge?
Nothing, zilch, nada, zeroooo.
In today's post, I share my thoughts on why this might be the case.
Let’s dive right in.
The Doge is just not cool anymore
While the recognisable branding of Pepe is obviously great, my honest opinion is just that people have Doge-related meme coin fatigue.
I mean think about it.
It has been done to death.
Then it’s been revived just so it could be done to death again.
People are OVER IT.
I compare what’s happening in the Doge branded meme coin space with that new pop song you hear on the radio and fall in love with the instant it hits your eardrums.
You play it again and again, and again because you just can’t get enough of that catchy melody.
But the same thing always happens and on the 1150th (give or take lol) play, you mind can’t take it anymore.
Suddenly that same pop melody that you couldn’t get enough of last week becomes like a nazi torture sound used to keep you up at night.
Over and over it loops around in your head, driving you insane.
For some reason the rest of the world still digs the song so if it happens to come onto the radio while you’re in the car, you scramble to hit any of the other presets before your ears start bleeding.
THIS is the stage that crypto investors are at with Doge branded meme coins haha.
Not to mention Doge branded meme coins are all… well shit
Is it any wonder that people are sick of them?
Being the first time that I’ve heard of Swole Doge, let’s take a look at what it does… err well at least promises what it will do in the end.
We both know that none of these things do anything in the hype phase and when that hype passes, don’t go on to deliver on promises.
But let’s just pretend that’s not the case and see what Swole Doge promises.
Okay, so according to the roadmap on what I think is their official site they… * checks notes *
Are going to create their own DEX and a game.
Yep, exactly the same as literally every other shitty dodge meme coin project promises, but never delivers on.
Or white labels someone else's product before the team rug pulls their own LP that they’ve tricked a community of normies into populating for them.
Without repercussions mind you.
…Now lion branded meme coins on the other hand, they’re onto something.
Tie them to a web3 social media platform that generates ad revenue used to buy tokens back off the market and you’ll be onto a winner!
