What is Ichi?
Ichi is a protocol that aims to provide communities with their native dollars. In last Sunday's article we delved into how it works and the advantages for DAOs of implementing the solution created by Ichi.
In a nutshell, it can be said that the existence of a native dollar in a community makes it easier for its contributors to pay and allows ShapeShift to attract more liquidity to the FOX token and create more diversification for the DAO Treasury.
With Ichi's facilitation of minting a native dollar collateralized with the DAO governance token, he ends up giving communities autonomy and removes the risks in using synthetic dollar minting tools such as liquidation.
In addition, it provides efficient trading markets for the FOX token and advantageous yield options for FOX holders, enabling earnings in excess of 100% per annum. No risk of permanent loss.
Let's understand how this works in practice?
How to mint oneFOX
Mining native dollars in Ichi will always require two tokens: USDC and the DAO governance token. If you want to mint oneFOX, you will need to have USDC and FOX in your wallet.
The ratio between the tokens is 80% USDC / 20% FOX. So if you want to mint 1 oneFOX, you need to have 0.80 USDC and 0.20 USD in FOX.
- Access the Ichi Platform
- Click "Mint"
- Accessing the page, you can choose which native dollar you want to mint. Search for oneFOX and select it.
- Enter the amount of oneFOX to mint. Always remember the mandatory USDC/FOX relationship.
- Approve the first interaction of the protocol with your wallet, allowing the spending of FOX and USDC.
- Carry out the minting and confirm the operation, paying the fees for interacting with the Ethereum blockchain.
- Ready! You now have your oneFOX and can use it to make payments or earn income by depositing it with Ichi.
Note: You can redeem your FOX and USDC used to mine ShapeShift DAO's native dollar at any time. Simply click "Redeem" and you will have access to the tokens used to create oneFOX.
Understanding how oneFOX is minted, it's time to show you the magic of passive income with native ShapeShift DAO dollars.
The different oneFOX applications in Ichi
Ichi offers two options to oneFOX holders:
- Stake the tokens in a oneFOX pool, receiving financial incentives in ICHI
- Provide liquidity to Angel Vaults, with rewards paid on FOX.
We will teach you both ways so that you can choose the one most aligned with your goals.
Deposit native ShapeShift DAO dollars into a oneFOX pool
- Within Ichi, go to the “Deposit” tab.
- A list of all native dollar funds from Ichi's partner communities will be displayed. Find oneFOX and click the green button labeled "Deposit".
- See that the ROI (return on investment) of the oneFOX group is ~32% p.a. at ICHI.
- With the oneFOX in your wallet, press the "Deposit" button again.
- Select the amount of oneFOX you want to deposit in the pool and approve the interaction of the Ichi smart contract with your wallet.
- After completing all these steps, you will already be receiving 32% of ICHI a.a. for depositing your oneFOX.
Now, let's explain how to use a tool recently developed by Ichi: Angel Vault.
Angel Vaults: Provide liquidity to Ichi with his oneFOX
Last year, Uniswap launched its V3, which allows users to provide liquidity only within a certain price range. This choice makes the activity more profitable, but ends up making it difficult to manage the assigned positions in the DEX.
Aware of this, Ichi created Angel Vaults – Position Managers on Uniswap V3.
To contribute to the liquidity of DAO tokens, Ichi implements liquidity pools on DEX and manages the positions of liquidity providers, eliminating the risk of Permanent Loss or making the activity highly profitable.
In 2022, ShapeShift DAO launched its Angel Vaultna, which allows oneFOX holders to deposit their native dollars with Ichi.
- Inside Ichi, go to the "Angel Vaults" tab
- All oneToken pools from associated Ichi communities will be listed. Find oneFOX and click the "Earn" button.
- Looking at the ROI of oneFOX/FOX Vault, we see that financial incentives for liquidity providers are ~110% p.a. on FOX!
- Holding oneFOX in your wallet, press "Add Liquidity" to deposit your tokens.
- Choose the amount of tokens to be deposited in the Vault, approve the interaction of the protocol with your wallet and voila! Your oneFOX is already performing ~110% p.a. on FOX
Your rewards will be displayed on the Angel Vaults home page in the "Earnings" column.
