I think it's clean slatism if that is a word. Many people are trying to wish their ingrained behavior away instead of just making tiny steps in their everyday life toward a "better future".
I have made those lists for years and written up goals I want to achieve, but they didn't come to fruition until I implemented systems and subsystems during the year and just held on to those even in difficult times.
In the last couple of years, I've made lists every month and taken stock of my life in different categories. I try to improve certain things on a continual basis and that is - at least for me - a successful way to improve.
