About 2 days ago, I came across a post in which noise.cash was mentioned as a BCH faucet. The post didn't have many details aside from the link to the site. So, I went to make a simple search about it until I found this article about this site.
Noise.cash can easily be described as a microblogging platform, but there are some differences because the application allows people to tip and interact with posts using BCH.
Basically, it is similar to what we have but in a much simpler form. The mechanics are very simple and so is the interface.
It looks pretty neat. No clutters & no ads which are good.
As a microblogging site, posting doesn't require a title. To put it simply, if you want to say something... simply blurt it out. You can basically talk about anything. But bear in mind the rules that were stated as sign-up to the site.
Oh yeah, about the sign-up process. It's simple as well. It only requires an email address for me to create my account.
- no waiting period
- no seed phrase
- no complicated password (just a simple on of your choice)
Personally, the registration of an account is as convenient as it could be.
Social Microblogging that pays with $BCH
I never had a chance to get my hands on $BCH before. But since BCH is one of the popular cryptos, it's not difficult to get a wallet for it.
By the way, the site doesn't have a built-in wallet. What it has is a wallet where a user can place the $BCH address. This address will be linked to your account. This set-up will facilitate the transaction of $tips for a post.
How to tip a post?
Here's the fun part, tipping & receiving tips of course.
As you click the $0.00 label at the bottom of a post, the Tip dialogue will show up and will provide you with 3 options:
- Free Tips
- Online Wallet
- QR code
Online Wallet is a tip that you give to the post with funds from your own pocket. If you have some $BCH sitting on your wallet then may freely give it away to your favorite Noise.cash authors.
Free Tips is funded by the site, hence "faucet". I'm still trying to get my head around the concept, but what happens is that the "Free Tips' is given to me at varying times of the day or when I'm active in the platform.
When tipping another user's post, a portion of the tip will be returned back to you (similar to curation reward). You may also select the option to increase your share of the tip. By default, the tipper will earn back 20% of the tip. But you may also change it to a higher percentage.
How to effectively earn tips?
There's no direct answer to that since it's a social media platform. In order to be successful on platforms like this, you must build a network of users to engage with. By posting good quality content, the users who appreciate it are more than willing to compensate you with a $tip.
For my 1st day experience in noise.cash, I earned about $0.14 from my 9 posts. It may not be a hefty reward but it's definitely something to hold on to and compound to grow.
That's all I have for now.
