Sometimes it's great to be able to simply seize the day. Just live in the present, and never think about what the future holds.
Life is usually beautiful for those who live in the present... up until a point, when their lack of planning for the future catches up with them.
By that time, unfortunately, it's usually too late to do anything to rectify your past mistakes or inaction.
But sometimes, a little bit of their seize-the-day mentality helps even those who plan ahead.
For example, why on Earth should I fuss about the impact of automation on the job market? I don't have a 'normal' job as we speak. I haven't had one for almost two decades.
I'm probably in the category of people who will be least affected directly from the coming disruptions on the job market due to automation.
But I care, because - unlike many of those to become directly affected, I am aware of what's coming - and, instead of seizing the day, like I should, I put myself in their shoes.
Lucky for us to have our little big and profitable 'distractions'.
But that's just 1% of the world's population, or whatever the ratio of crypto adoption has reached by now.
I have a feeling pretty soon governments, besides corporations, will start pushing for a larger adoption of crypto. Public crypto or their own.
Why do I think so?
Covid gives us some clues that there are limits humans have when their liberties are being taken from them. The longer this goes, the higher the tensions will be.
Add to that the loss of job due to Covid in this early stage and automation soon after, and we will pretty soon have serious issues.
Cracking down on crypto under these circumstances would be a major mistake, most likely. So they don't even try to intervene (which would probably fail anyway, as we have seen in the past).
The best cure for losing jobs due to automation might be crypto. Offering the possibility to trade your time for income and then your income for wealth, it's a major, MAJOR opportunity as jobs income is lost.
Who will dare take that away from people? Who has an alternative, at least for this decade?
Can you imagine how crypto will look like at the end of the decade?
At the beginning of the previous one, we only had bitcoin, and a very fragile one at that time. And now we have thousands of coins, multiple layers, side-chains, smart contracts, defi, proof-of-brain, NFTs, all grouped in many ecosystems, some of them interconnected already.
