I watched the Splinterlands Town Hall recording last evening after publishing my weekly news report. If I had seen it before, there was much more to talk about in yesterday's post.
But I guess today isn't too late either.
If you watch the town hall recording (I'll link it at the end again), you'll notice Matt talks about 6 projects they have going for Q1 2025. Then, at some point, he remembers they also have the Conclave Arcana core set right after Q1, which makes them 7. That's a lot for 3 months, if they can make it happen!
1. Ambassador Program, As Part of the New Player Experience (NPE)
This is the totally new affiliate program created after the original idea of Bulldog and passed in a later SPS DAO proposal, slightly changed by .
The ambassador program has the potential of attracting important influencers in promoting Splinterlands, and will be be released next month in December.
Other parts of NPE will come out in Q1 next year. Basically, they want the game to work as Web 2, with Web 3 on top for those who want to make the transition.
2. Mobile App
will create the mobile app(s) for Splinterlands. I believe that's a guarantee that we will have a pleasant mobile app and without issues. Given that now Tech Modernization is almost finished (without the tutorial, which will be removed and replaced with a video guide until a new tutorial will be created), Splinterlands now has a mobile-first design, and it won't be difficult to create an app based on the new code and design. This project is expected in Q1.
3. Survival Mode
The new format we already talked about yesterday is also slated for Q1, possibly even in January, said Matt in the Town Hall. Here's the official announcement.
4. Glamour and Cosmetics
I think this is mostly ready since it was slated for Q4 this year initially, but got pushed back because other projects took precedence. As the name says it, they are mostly for visual effects, but they are thinking to have some influence in the gameplay.
Matt had the idea during the Town Hall that cards with glamour should benefit of a lower cooldown time for the Survival Mode, for example.
5. SPS Validators
The SPS validator software is in the phase of QA testing now, and they are targeting January for releasing it in the open. Together with land, this has been one of the long-term projects that seemed to never end. A deadline is nice to see for that.
6. Land 1.75
Land owners probably already know what this upgrade entails and have been following updates from in discord. Anyone else interested should listen to the town hall, as he explains everything in there.
This is also slated for Q1, without a more precise date.
Final Words
The schedule looks... dense. I don't think they'll be able to release everything on the list in Q1, but hopefully it won't take much longer than that. The excitement started to pick up too, probably to a good degree influenced by the crypto markets. We want to see how everything falls into place next year, when all conditions should be... optimal, at least in the first part of the year. After that, we might see hype, but that doesn't mean conditions will be optimal anymore: you don't keep pushing the gas pedal when the engine is hot.
Marketing also started to show some results. For now, they focused more on X and our community, from what is visible to us, but we will know more about what's planned next month when the other marketing collaborators join the town hall.
