Tomorrow I shall be loading my Jeep Liberty chariot with all the goodies I have crafted over the last forty-eight hours and hurtle down the mountain with the hubs to our farm for a five day family time celebration.
Yep, I am pretty excited. Well, I think I am, I am sorta exhausted tbh. I mean, yesterday I baked and cooked nine hours non stop, and today was about five hours of baking and cooking followed by another five hours of getting ready to go chores, including rolling all the roads with the snow roller on the atv because of course it decided to snow last night.
But I ain't complaining. Well, much, as I get to spend time with my heathens, all of them! Not only is the boy home, but my other military kiddo is home along with our tech guru kiddo too, it's going to be most festive.
Hmm. Now that I think of it, tomorrow's New Year's party is probably going to be more than festive. We have to have it early as our Marine kiddo has to leave to head back to Camp Lejeune the 30th, but that's not a problem, we are always up for a bit of festivities.
Although, I am wondering if we might be just a tad over festive for a random Sunday between Christmas and New Year's. I have twenty pounds of lasagna prepped, a case of candies and cookies I made, two loaves of freshly made bread for the garlic bread treatment, my daughter has a ham, my Ma is bringing her annual Frog's Eye Salad, who knows what else is going to be present, oh, and the boy filled his car with pyrotechnical delights when he got home.
It's gonna be a shin dig for sure.
My heart is happy though, as I know there will be shenanigans around the bonfire. Nature decided to blow down a few big trees on the property so the kids already got the tops bunched up for a bit of a warming gnatsmoke as my dad refers to it. I am sure he will be amused.
Mom was telling me the other day that we lost 16 friends and family members in the last 19 months. It's been quite a year and a half for sure, so I am more than looking forward to spending time with family and friends having a good ol fashioned generikat bash. It's gonna be great!
For now though, this tired Kat needs some rest. Peace out ya'll!
