Hey All,
Todays the last trading day of the Year, 2022 for the India Stock Market SENSEX & NIFTY. As of writing this article both the indices Sensex and Nifty are down almost 0.5% though the market had opened in Green. This time around I had changed my stock investment pattern and only bought stocks during the market crash moments i.e. bought during the dips. Here is the snapshot of my overall stock portfolio::
My Stock Portfolio Status...
I made an investment of Rs. 3.45 Lakhs and the current market value of the invest is Rs. 3.40 Lakhs. A loss of Rs.5K, which is not that bad considering the current financial conditions and the global markets overall. This loss would be easily covered in coming days where I would be further investing into the stocks to average out my positions.
Overall, this is a long term investment and am trying to build my retirement corpus here by investing into some blue chip companies. The best part is that I have built this portfolio in a years time frame and only invested/bought stocks when the markets were heavily down. This gave me a good opportunity to buy in large cap stocks at cheaper prices and at the same time average out the prices at every dip.
The plan that I have for 2023, is pretty simple. I'll continue to invest in the Indian stock markets only when the markets are down. I am looking forward to bring my portfolio value to at least Rs. 5 lakhs which is around $6K+ USD. This would mean to pump in another Rs. 1.5 Lakhs in stocks for the coming year. At the same time, I am also invested in mutual funds where I have close to Rs.10K+ a month SIPs [Systematic Investment Plan] ongoing and this will continue further in 2023. The GOAL here is to be consistent with my investments in the financial markets and continue building a retirement corpus as much as I can. There were days, where I lost quite a bit of money by trading in stocks and it lead me no where. But this strategy of investing during dips is some what working. I haven't seen my portfolio taken a large beating. And when it does, I invest further and average out my buying price. Looking forward to a bright future ahead in 2023. And hopefully I be consistent with my investing pattern and don't break or mess p things.. finger's crossed.. cheers
