In our contemporary world, there have been innovative solutions to areas of life that has proven difficult or required strenuous manual labour especially on the environment. It's the 21st century and it is evident that green technology is one that promote sustainability in various ways. Looking back at how life used to be, we can see that there are lots of changes in the areas of sustainability and environmental impact. They are initiatives that help to reduce negative impacts brought from various resources, for instance, the efficient use of raw materials to minimize environmental degradation. The use of renewed energy sources to eliminate harmful emissions from fuel or gas. The production of electric cars like Tesla to reduce pollution. Also, the use of technologies on farming practice to enhance agriculture.
In Nigeria, the use of green technology for the promotion of sustainability and environmental growth has been efficient in some areas that offer economic development and growth all round. These technologies has really gone s long way in addressing some environmental challenges that people are facing.
Electricity has been an issue in many areas of Nigeria, to the extent that it affect people who are in businesses. It was so bad that people would complain of how perishable goods worth thousands of naira got spoilt due to lack of power. I'm order to curb this deficiency people opted to buying generators that are lousy, smoky and requires expensive fuel to power. Often times, we hear of how hot it is to sleep in the house and people get to put on the generator overnight, the sound is so loud that it disturbed the neighbors. We have also heard of how families died in their houses because they made the mistake of inhaling the fume while they slept.
Due to the introduction of the green technology, most people are now opting for renewable energy in solar panels. This has been so advantageous and also economical than the fuel powered generator. The solar panels is continuously replenished by the sun, which makes it safe and does not require funding. It is generally healthy to use unlike fuel that encourages gas emissions. They provide cost-effective electricity solution over time. With the solar system installed you do not need to bothered with light bills, foods getting spoiled in freezers, where to charge phones and so on...
Another important way that the green technology has been helpful is in the area of developed cooking technology. This has greatly reduced environmental hazards and bodily harm like fire accidents, burns, pollution's that affects the lungs and so on. In the olden days, women use traditional methods to cook which included firewoods, charcoal, sawdust, kerosene to make food. These had advantages and many disadvantages. But now, there are varieties of clean cooking technologies that are efficient such as cookstoves, gas cookers, hot plate and solar cookers. Also there are kitchen equipments that makes food healthy to eat, we have blenders, juicers, mixers and so on.
In conclusion, the green technology has brought about effective innovations to our lifestyle by improving negative environmental impact with positive changes that are healthy.
