It's Sunday up here and after spending the whole of yesterday out of the house (hiking to a wedding and being exposed to noise, people, and such), we are having a quiet day today. With the weather insinuating an early rain, it would be a cool time to just be... and let the soul recuperate.
But first, let's have a few updates.
Onboarding Campaign
Did you know that the Onboarding (Adoption) Campaign spearheaded by Leo kickstarts on Monday, 11th September? The campaign aims to increase and grow the user base of the Hive Blockchain. If you are learning this for the first time, read on and take time and sign up on Zealy afterward. This invitation is open to those who have a Hive account.
The campaign runs every month until December 2024, and participants have the chance to share from the monthly prize pool. Speaking of which, there's a 5,000 HBD in the prize pool for the incoming September campaign.
What's in it for you?
- The growth of Hive is to our growth as well. While you get involved, you can earn HIVE in the process.
What to do?
- Sign up to Zealy (if you haven't done so in the past). |
- Complete tasks each day to gain more XP (experience points) and climb up the Leaderboard. There are daily missions, expiring ones (with deadlines) and others that run through the campaign month.
- Depending on your rank, you get a share of the prize pool at the end of each campaign month.
So grab your chance by joining the Hive community on Zealy right now.
- It's nothing complicated, you can connect using your Discord or through Wallet Connect.
My Leo Goals Update
It's the weekend which means time for a late update on the weekly numbers (it is supposed to be happening each Saturday but I was a little beaten when we got home yesterday so I didn't push it).
Leo Power
There was an addition of 100 LEO in the last seven days which was kind of accidental. I simply stake whatever liquid LEO I see in my HE wallet and I'm quite fascinated that they add up to a whole number (100).
✳️Current Week: 21,846 LP
✳️Previous Week: 21,746 LP
I noticed there are some 68+ LEO right now but I decided to let it stay there until LPUD (5 days from now). Perhaps it's my way of taking it a little slower this time, just so I can add a bigger number on Leo Power Up Day.
Hive Power
59 HP was added during the week which isn't negligible at all considering my long-form content being inconsistent (managed to create 3 so it's good). Not that I was in CBA mode as Tito Ed calls it. Anyhow, here's how the numbers are looking:
✳️Current Week: 2,120 HP
Not the best growth graph there is but the good thing is that it's on an ascending pattern so I'm still giving my back a gentle pat. There's no other way than to continue growing it.
A No-Buy September
Shani brought up this last week through her post. The idea is for one to review or evaluate his spendings and literally set what he can and cannot buy during such a period.
A no-buy month is a month when you set yourself some intentional rules about what you are and are not going to buy. You decide your budget and what is permissible within your rules.src
The purpose behind this is obviously to discipline ourselves to save more and avoid buying unnecessary stuff that we end up not using or consuming at all.
Personally, I rarely shop for stuff unless it is absolutely needed. I learned the painful lesson of having to get rid of many when we moved into the house and have since vowed not to collect things.
So a no-buy month is basically easy for me. This month wouldn't be different. There won't be any new things to be brought or delivered home, except for fruits, food, kitchen and bathroom essentials, food supplements, and other regular monthly expenses like car petrol, and bills.
A challenge would be whether I can pause buying HIVE. I tend to buy 5s and 10s of it a few times a day (on my main account) so I may have to check how to make some adjustments on it.
Another would be how to make the husband lose interest in online shopping, LOL! He had been on to it for months now and I'm freaking out each time a delivery bike comes around. A few days ago, we received 4 parcels of various things (seeds, tiny tools that I know he would only use one or two times and will be put away into the cabinets) that he ordered online. Last week, there was a set of pliers that we already have at the other house and we can just get them when needed.
A tip or two would be very appreciated :)
Bonus: ReblogLottery Bonanza
Sharing is caring so here's something you might want to participate in.
A few days ago, I encountered a thread by which got me curious and went to check his timeline. There I discovered that he has this #rebloglottery initiative where he is sharing 40% of his post's earnings (plus 5 HSBI) with whoever wins the lucky draw.
It's super easy to participate, just reblog his latest reblog lottery post I think within the first 24 hours his post went live and you're in.
For an additional entry, you can create a thread with the following context and drop the thread link under his post.
If you're up for it, check out the details on this post and I wish you good luck!
