LeoFinance having established its reputation as a builder on Hive is doing well even when the crypto market and global economies are being challenged. One of its most recent projects, LeoThreads has been around for over 8 months now after it rolled out in August last year in the old (current) LeoFinance UI. Then the alpha version was released on the new UI where we have seen an increase in the monthly active users (MAU) from 500 to now doubled according to the data by anomadsoul which is quite impressive.
We have seen improvements and upgrades over the past months and more in the last few weeks which show that works are being done not only on the development side but also within the community and userbase, re:
LeoThreads Collaboration
There are various initiatives going on, one of which is the partnership between LeoFinance and the different Hive communities. If I'm not mistaken, there are 17 or probably more of them already. It's great to see they have come together, making LeoThreads a much more fun and inclusive space here on Hive. A win-win if you ask me.
The "Author of the Week" is another fantastic collaboration. Salute to whoever thought about this. Hive whales (i.e. Blocktrades, OCD, Theycallmedan, Leovoter) collaborating amongst each other to reward authors (chosen by people through polls on LeoThreads) and their communities. And in the process, accumulate marketing funds for Hive too. Talk about a more decentralized curation where winning Hive authors and their communities get a share from the rewards pool through whale upvotes. Another win-win.
The fact that threads welcome any topic is truly an open, inclusive space with no rules to abide, but using our own volition on what to share (or do) and not. Nothing gets better than that, right? That's why it amuses me that while threads is quite easy to use, some still say they want to try it out but they do not have time. They are actually missing out on something good!
If you are like me whose eyes get challenged reading long-form contents especially when you consume (read) not only 5 articles but 10, 15 or more in a day, LeoThreads is a great breakaway. At least that's how I see it anyway. I can read a single thread in a matter of seconds and quickly engage with the author of it without having to spend more time formulating comments. Well, except for some cases where I do have to think a little hard before replying.
And did you know that the production version of LeoThreads is set to roll out on May 1st? That was announced by Khal on the recent AMA podcast. That means more functionality will become available. Add to that, I believe the smart contract for the LeoAds is going to start too. This is where those with LEO stakes will benefit. Per my understanding, the revenue from the ads will be used to buy back LEO from the market and then distributed as Leo Power to the stakeholders. I believe it is going to be stake-weighted, the more Leo Power one has, the more share he'd get.
And speaking of stakes, I did my LPUD participation today, increasing my LP for a little less than 400 LEO (combined) and it now stands at 11,525 inching me closer to my year-end goal of 15k Leo Power.
Leo Finance is on a mission to developing the "Everything App" and they are working hard towards it. It would be great to see how this project evolves over the coming months and years. It is my firm belief that one is missing out when not on LeoThreads and not growing his LEO stakes.
