Hello, August!🥂
27 months on the Hive blockchain and counting... although not exactly because I was an absentee during the first six months or so after my account creation. No regrets though, it's all part of the journey.
But yes, I'm still surprised realizing how the days turned into months and years. My mind still thinks that the 1st of January 2022 is my Hive birthday, lol! Perhaps it is because it was when I started leaving some serious block prints, making goals of growing my stakes and becoming active on-chain. I have never missed a day since. Been creating content, staking HIVE day after day, being present in my own little way.
FYI: 'Block prints' was coined by rmsadkri on threads. It's like "footprints" but it's on a blockchain hence, block prints.
Brief History
Starting with zero Hive Power, borrowing from the faucet to buying a few using my own funds, staking the rewards, growing to what it is today.
Back in January 2022, my HP was less than 300 and I was dreaming of having 1.2k Hive Power for the year. Little did I know that it eventually grows tenfold. Of course, none of that could happen without the unrelenting help and support of fellow Hivers and curators. For that, I'm truly grateful.🙏
Here's a quick look back or an overview of how my Hive Power has been growing month after month:
Thanks also to Hivebuzz' initiatives - the Hive Power Up Month (PUM) which made us form the habit of powering up every day without fail and yes, the HPUD as well.
These recent months, I always try to manually power up at least 5 HIVE daily which add up plus the 50% author and curation rewards which we know are automatically staked.
Per Hivestats, my overall total rewards (author plus curation) from the beginning is 12,897 HP. There's a difference of around 500+ HP from my actual Hive Power and it makes sense because I also used some HIVE to acquire Layer 2 tokens (LEO, DBOND, BRO among others). Also have some as HBD savings. I have not withdrawn any of my rewards since, well except for some amounts which were invested in the LeoFinance DeFi projects like PolyCUB.
Anyhow, my goal remains the same - growing my stakes. And with that in mind, I'm participating in today's HPUD. Just added 72 HIVE increasing my HP to 12,400 - certainly a milestone for me. My target for the year is to reach 15k HP. With 5 months more to go, I'm positive it will be achieved.
Why the need to stack up?
Thinking long-term. I'm building it for the future. I see it as a savings account, something we may benefit from in the years to come. And in fact, I have such a wishful thinking of passing it down to my family when the time comes. Possible? Why not, right? As long as they got the keys.
I'm bullish on HIVE. I believe it will be worth more than what it is now.
Growing my HP is my way of supporting the Hive economy and other users. Having more HP means I get to help in the distribution and/or spreading HIVE through my upvotes, no matter how small they may be.
And last but certainly not the very least, I'm enjoying the adventure on this blockchain which most of us call home. And so there's no stopping. Creating more block prints continues!
Happy HPUD everyone and cheers to more growth!
