Life is full of uncertainties, I don't think I can preach this enough. But as humans, we tend to expect good things to happen at all times. That's how the world works. As long as Eve ate the Apple in the Garden of Eden, bad things will always find a way to crawl in and disrupt our merry moments.
It's often said, that we should hope for the best while expecting the worst, and when it comes to how much the quality of our lives can be improved, it's important that we make room for uncertainties.

No one ever wants to imagine the worst, but these things happen and sometimes we can't even tell in what format it will appear. No one saw the several recessions and economic dooms we have encountered coming. No one saw the pandemic coming. No one is ever going to see a bad event coming because we can not predict the future.
However, there is something we can do. Creating buffers. Creating extra oxygen canisters. We need to still be able to breathe and live in the face of adversity. And the only way we can do this is if we had prepared the buffer to help us stand strong and weather the storm.
Just as the title says, it doesn't matter how many jolly days you have, that's not what matters, what matters is what you do right before the storm appears.
We all had the bull season a few months ago, and we dined/wined, and some of us didn't bother to store away some of those fortunes as buffers or extra oxygen canisters. Today, the bear season, is trying to blow us out, it's threatening the very existence of our beliefs... Which is building regardless of what the market is doing.
If we had prepared a huge buffer for an event such as this, there's no one we wouldn't have been able to pass through this season without selling our tokens for peanuts. We could have done it!
It's better to have a cash reserve during the bear season because it keeps one away from panic selling. And this is a 100% chance that never fails. The rest can fail because we do not know what the market will do next. But a buffer doesn't fail.
Right now, we all know exactly what we will do in the next bull season...... Create mighty buffers..... I hope you'll remember.
