Splinterlands has been a challenging game lately and I have been considering what I could do to improve my own win rate. I have decided that I want to move up to Gold rank so I plan on buying some cards and preparing for that. I have gotten the starting level in Riftwatchers so I will focus on increasing the power of my chaos legion deck because there are a lot of cards that are not leveled up yet. In my last purchase, I already increased quite a few cards and I focused more on improving the stats or abilities that my card get in the Silver league. Recently, the anti-bot measures have also made things harder in my ranked battles so I need to improve my deck even further.
Riftwatchers Purchase
Above are the cards that I purchased: Dhampir Stalker, Legionnaire Alvar, Xenith Monk, Prismologist, Insidious Warlock, Life Sapper, Iza the Fanged, Cursed Windeku, Tenyii Striker, Lily Shieldpaw, and Conqueror Jacek using Monster Market. I get back part of what I paid for the cards and I prefer using this when I am buying directly off the market.
In order to purchase these cards, I decided to just pay HBD for 30,000 credits during my recent goals update in this post. The HBD was gained from my author rewards over the past week and I will be continuing to use them to buff up my deck. I didn't use up all my credits but I left some over after I figure out what else I want first. HBD pumped above $1 at that time so I bought credits then and take advantage of getting more credits for my HBD.
Dhampir Stalker
The first card that I wanted to upgrade was Dhampir Stalker for an extra ranged attack damage and I bought 6 BCX to increase it's level from 3 to 4. The true strike makes this card quite useful. I do use this card from time to time and it works out quite well with Thadius Brood summoner because ranged attack can be quite powerful.
Legionnaire Alvar
The 2nd card is Legionnaire Alvar and I bought 2 BCX of this card to increase it to level 2. This is a neutral monster with the void armor but I don't use it much. However, with the increased attack and the addition of the giant killer ability, it is way more useful now. It will deal more damage against high mana cost cards that are 10 or above.
Xenith Monk
The 3rd card is Xenith Monk and I bought 3 BCX of this card to increase it to level 4. This is a neutral monster with the heal and I use it from time to time. The heal makes this good as a backup tank and it's especially useful in the little league matches. Increasing this card to level 4 gives me extra speed and health for this card.
Prismologist
The 4th card is Prismologist and I bought 4 BCX to increase this card to level 3. This is a ranged monster with the blast ability can be quite useful. I already used it a few times due to this ability and increasing it's damage will help. It won't increase the damage on the blast unless I combine it with General Sloan.
Insidious Warlock
The fifth card is Insidious Warlock and I only bought 1 BCX of this card to increase it to level 2. It has the recharge, but I don't really like this ability outside of Uriel (because Uriel has heal). Increasing it's level will increase it's magic damage and it will make it more useful in fights if I ever decide to use it.
Life Sapper
The sixth is Life Sapper and I bought 7 BCX of this card to increase this to level 4. It has the life leech ability and increasing it to level 4 increases its magic damage. I do use this card from time to time so I think this is a decent increase in level.
Iza the Fanged
The seventh is Iza the Fanged and I bought 1 BCX to increase this card to level 2. This is a rare ranged sneak monster and increasing the level to 2 increases the damage to 2. This will make it more useful and make it more likely for me to use it in the future.
Cursed Windeku
The eighth is Cursed Windeku and I bought 2 BCX to make a level 5 card. The thorns ability makes this card very useful as a tank. I use it quite often and it also has a heal ability now after I increased it to level 5 when I fight in gold rank for the last day or two of the season.
Tenyii Striker
The ninth is Tenyii Striker and I bought 6 BCX of this to increase this card to level 4. I use this quite often as a sneak damage dealer and increasing this to level 4 also gives it the dodge ability.
Summoners
The last two cards are Lily Shieldpaw and Conqueror Jacek. I increased these cards so I could use them depending on the situation. This increases my win rate because I can use higher level cards when I do use these summoners.
Battle
This is a battle that I did use one of my newly upgraded cards (Life Sapper). It didn't help out much because the summoner reduced my magic damage but I did win the match even though I used ranged monsters. I did want to place a few cards but it might have been safer if I had used melee monsters instead.
Conclusion
I bought some cards to help me out in ranked battles and it will also decrease the penalty that I get from fights. I am funding this through my blog earnings.
