I am one that values a private life, I have been on Facebook, Instagram back in those days when I was stupid enough to be there and posting pictures of me or whatever I was doing that could earn admiration or attract jealousy, for me a fun thing to do. I eventually outgrew that as it attracted unwanted inquisitive folks I don't want in my life and when I got the opportunity to experience life on blockchain, my data became valuable to me and I've so far been treating it as such and trying to stay off the likes of Facebook.
Twitter happens to be the only centralized social media platform I now use and my only reason for using Twitter is to share my Hive posts on Twitter to give Hive some exposure just like some Hive community members are doing. Which I feel one way or the other we all have roles to play for the benefit of Hive.
I have been taking note of Twitter attracting unwanted attention to me with exposure to scammers out there, there are lots of bad actors out there looking for who to prey on that is involved in crypto.
So Les Brown emailed...
The subject line email "I need your help" told me already it is a scam or some phishing link awaiting, normally I would delete but I decided to see what Les Brown has to say. So there we have it above, Les Brown needing my help to build his new account.
Yes am a fan of Les Brown (the sender must have gone through my Twitter account to discover I follow Les Brown, the real one), I listen to him every now and then when needing some motivation but some scammer posing to be Les Brown isn't the kind of scam I will fall for.
Earlier in the day before the email was another one from telegram text me "occursum" a Latin word meaning meet, it turns out he can text in English when I responded in English, so he at least saved me the trouble of translating his Latin to English.
His proposal was, he wants me to be his confidant as he is a moderator for a blockchain game and he is capable of declaring me as the winner, then we can split the money amongst us.
Thank you am not interested was my response and I was quick to use the block button.
Some input is expected of me in sharing Hive out there but am at the point of slowing exiting Twitter completely and all unnecessary Telegram groups.
There are scams out there and we've at least do our best and not fall for them.
We owe it to ourselves to make Hive great
