This is the first time in over 6 years of being on the blockchain, that I haven't paid much attention to Hive Fest. Now before you start throwing things at me....It's not because I don't want to keep up to date, but I'm on the road.
This is a huge few weeks for my place of employment, so my attention has been focused on my offline job. But last night, I got to get a night off per se....It allowed me to sit down, and interact with my favorite community on chain - $LEO
And one of the most incredible 'features' of this platform is your ability to create a 'threadcast'. It's essentially a bunch of Lions in the community, talking about a specific topic at any given moment of the day.
A forum post I guess, I might be shoing my age with that example lol
When someone in the community starts a threadcast and it gets over 20 comments, it starts trending. You can see from the image above, this highlights the hosts of the threadcasts when the discussion starts trending.
Powerful stuff. Your account is front and center for all to see when using Threads.
So again, like I mentioned, I had the night off last night and seeing it was Thursday Night Football, I decided to start a threadcast and talk football all night long.
This was the end total of the threadcast, over 120 comments and plenty of smack talk and fun times with fellow football fans in Threads.
I really enjoyed myself and thought, this is a feature that the rest of the blockchain should be using each and every day. I know, I know, lots of Lions have caught onto this feature and host some pretty epic discussions.
But what about the rest of the blockchain?
Sometimes I think we are our own worst enemy....
I poked around social media and of course, everyone at Hive Fest is talking about Hive Fest....On Twitter.
Or X, or whatever it's called.....
And I guess that's fine because these people will argue that that's where the audience is so we need ot be seen...But here's a crazy idea...
Work with me here guys....
How about we become products of our products?
Insane, I know....But you'd think a blockchain that brags and boasts about being the only true #web3 chain ever....Would actually have members of the chain, using it?
Now let me say, I know there are die hard users of Threads and they will use threadcasts eevery single day. That's fine...But I'm talking to the people that AREN'T!
Give your head a shake, seriously lol It's time to really start practicing what we preach here and use this stuff every chance we can. That being said, this seems to be beating a dead horse because I know I have spoken about this stuff for years here.
What will it take for more members of the Hive community to use these amazing #web3 apps we currently have at our fingertips?
