Hi guys. Necrozark here again sharing my games with you all. In my previous post, I mentioned that getting supports will win you the game. However, that is not always the case. On this blog I will show the weakness and mistakes of getting a support monsters.
This post will be different on the usual post that I make, this time I will show the opponents lineup and my thoughts on his strategy.
RULESET OF THE GAME
| NAME | DETAILS | |
|---|---|---|
| STAMPEDE | The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed. | |
| TAKING SIDES | Neutral Monsters may not be used in battles. |
HIS LINE UP
MY THOUGHTS ON HIS STRATEGY
We always need to check the opponents match history, so we can predict what he will play and we can counter it. Then we need to check the ruleset, make the ruleset put us in an advantage.
I think my opponent did not check my match history, because I really love playing Sneak monsters in low mana cost games, and going for quantity over quality in the low mana cost rulesets just like I posted in my previous post.
His lineup is very vulnerable to Opportunity and Sneak monsters, just 1 sneak monsters will kill his backline monster. And he has 1 monster that has an armor, which means once his CRYSTAL JAGUAR dies, the Repair ability will be useless.
He gambled that I use high mana cost monster, since he went for VENARI CRYSTALSMITH and ARMORSMITH which has Repair and Tank Heal abilities.
BATTLE
ROUND 1
At the first round, his support monsters showed it's strengths. Healing and reparing the armor of his Crystal Jaguar. While in my side, Celestial Harpy is slowly killing his weakest monster in the field. The round ended with us trading kills. I killed his Lensmaster and he killed my Soul Fiend.
ROUND 2 & 3
The second round would be similar to the first. His support monsters preventing his tank to die. I got lucky, his monsters missing their attacks on my Pelacor Conjurer. While, I killed his ARMOR SMITH in the third round.
ROUND 4 & 5
The gap became huge in the final round, I haven't lost my core monsters while he already lost 1 of his damage dealer and a support, thus me ending the game and winning.
CONCLUSION
Sometimes getting support monster is not the best idea, we always need to check the enemy match history and the rulesets. The strategy that I always use when positioning and chosing my monsters is being wary of high damage front/tank monster and Sneak monsters. If the ruleset will allow, I always expect the enemy will have an powerful Tank/1st position monster and Sneak monsters.
