My Rebellion Buying Strategy: Focus on Neutral Cards
On December 5, 2023 the general sale of the new Rebellion set began.
The Rebellion Packs for sale on the first day of the general sale were a total of 9.5 million but starting December 5, a burning mechanism was activated that eliminates 90% of the unsold portion of a 25K pack quantity every day.
This burn mechanism will most likely decrease the total number of Rebellion packs and avoid the mistake made with the Chaos Legion set that produced a general inflation of card value.
In fact in 5 days 152911 Rebellion Packs were burned and 418343 packs were opened = 2.09 million Rebellion cards in circulation.
It is interesting to note that in a time interval of 5 days:
- the market value of Rebellion packs on Hive Engine increased: $3.59 -> $3.85
- the estimated value of Rebellion packs increased: $3.83 -> $4.37
When the estimated value of a Rebellion pack increases in a time interval it means that the market value of Rebellion cards has increased on average in that time interval.
At this particular stage when there are still few Rebellion cards in circulation and their average price is increasing I prefer to wait to buy the cards I like best.
At this stage my focus is:
- On studying the statistics of the Rebellion cards by comparing them with cards from the other sets I already have in my collection.
- On choosing my buying targets.
- On selling my Rebellion cards that are not among my purchase goals.
- On selling cards from previous sets that have lower stats than Rebellion cards
Today I start studying Rebellion cards to choose my future buying targets and in this post I share my evaluations and considerations.
I decided to proceed by element and today I started looking at the Rebellion cards of the nuetral element.
I chose to start with the neutral element cards because these are the cards that can be used with all summoners and for this reason between a neutral card and an element card that have similar stats I always choose to buy the neutral card even if it has a higher price because I will be able to use it more frequently in my game battles.
To view all the neutral cards in the Rebellion set I like to use the CARDS section of the useful Splintercards site.
In the Rebellion set there are 12 neutral cards: 10 neutral cards + 2 neutral Promo cards
I used the CARDS section of Splintercards to have a quick and compact first view of all the neutral cards in the Rebellion set with maximum stats.
To choose my buying targets I like to use the CARDS BY LEAGUE CAP feature that allows me to see the cards with the maximum stats that can be used in the league I play in.
In fact, I play in the Gold leagues of the Modern Format.
The cards that I can use in my game battles have a level below the maximum level as you can see from the information in the table below.
Thanks to Splintercards I can quickly see the maximum stats of each card in the Rebellion set that can be used in the Gold leagues I generally play in.
Today I started to evaluate the game statistics of neutral cards of common rarity:
- Grimbardun Fighter
- Nimbledook Ranger
- Chaos Lackey
- Ulundin Overseer
Among the neutral cards of common rarity in the Rebellion set, there are no cards that would greatly increase my chances of winning a battle compared to the cards I already have in my card collection.
I like both cards Grimbardun Fighter (level 8) and Nimbledook Ranger (level 8) but they are not cards that in my opinion would shift the balance of a battle in Gold leagues because they are very useful only in the presence of precise battle rules and for that reason they will not be my high priority purchase targets.
The same applies to Chaos Lackey which I think I would almost never use in battle because it only has 1 attack point at level 8 and I would almost always prefer to use other cards instead.
Among the common neutral cards in the Rebellion set the one card I like the most is Ulundin Overseer because I could use it as a tank in the first position and I could use a second tank in the second position because thanks to the Flank ability of Ulundin Overseer the card in the second position acquires the Reach ability and can attack from the second position.
Some combinations I thought of are:
- Ulundin Overseer + Grum Flameblade in a battle with the Reverse Speed ruleset.
- Ulundin Overseer + Coastal Sentry + Merdaali Guardian.
I then identified my first possible purchase/upgrade target: Ulundin Overseer level 8.
I have 2 BCXs of Uludin Overseer in my collection and to upgrade it to level 8 I would have to buy 218 BCXs and spend $24.83
Ulundin Overseer is an upgrade target of mine but it is not a priority target for me and I will wait for its price per BCX to decrease before buying more BCX.
Based on the evaluations I made today, I decided to immediately put up for sale:
- 2 Grimbardun Fighter level 1
- 1 Nimbledook Ranger level 1
In the Rebellion set there are 4 rare neutral cards.
Moxian Rebel is definitely a purchase target of mine because it has two useful abilities starting at level 4: Weapons Training and Camouflage.
It can be very useful to me in battles with the little league ruleset.
I can use it with my Obsidian summoner to increase his magic attack.
I can use it between two cards without attack to make adjacent cards acquire 1 point of magic attack.
I have identified a possible second purchase target of mine!
I have 1 BCX of Moxian Rebel in my collection but to purchase more BCXs I will wait because it is a card that is currently priced per BCX above $2.10
Another purchase goal of mine is Mad Ogre Anarchist of level 6 while I do not plan to purchase BCXs of Drybone Bowdog in the short term because I have cards with better ranged attacks in my collection that also outweigh the advantage of Drybone Bowdog's Ambush ability.
Instead, it is a target of mine to purchase Grimbardun Smith which at level 6 has three abilities: Immunity, Void and Shield that make this card useful and versatile because it can be used in the presence of many rulesets.
The cost of level 6 Grimbardun Smith is relatively high: $194.33
There are only 2 neutral epic cards in the Rebellion set: Pallus and Great Porcupine.
Among the two epic cards a possible purchase target of mine could be only Pallus of level 5 which I could use especially in battles that have the Super Sneak ruleset where the Loockout ability is very useful.
Pallus of level 5 has a cost = $69,846
There are only 2 neutral legendary cards in the Rebellion set and I really like both of them: Nalara Geinek and Mantaroth.
I would like to have in my collection Nalara Geinek of level 3 that I would always use in battles with the Weak Magic ruleset and in combination with cards with Magic Reflect abilities such as Djinn Muirat.
The cost of level 3 Nalara Geinek is $52.26.
Among the neutral cards, my favorite is Mantaroth of level 3
I have encountered Mantaroth in battle only twice, and in both battles I lost.
Thanks to the Armored Strike ability, Mantaroth can attack twice in each round and his total initial attack power is = 7 if his armor points are not reduced before his attack.
However, Mantaroth has a low speed, and for this reason it should preferably be used in combination with cards that have the Taunt ability to attract attacks to other positions and preserve as much of its armor points as possible, which, however, could be usefully increased by using cards with the Protect ability.
I like Mantaroth because it plays well in the presence of many rulesets but unfortunately it also has a very high cost.
Mantaroth of level 3 has a cost = $101.53
Final Considerations
Today I began to decide my purchase/upgrade goals related to the new Rebellion set to increase the battle strength of my card collection usable in Modern Format and to increase my win rate.
Deciding my purchasing goals early on will help me better optimize my card collection.
As long as there are few Rebellion cards in circulation, I will not buy cards from the market but will prefer to buy packs of cards that I open to sell the cards that are not part of my list of purchase/upgrade goals and then buy the cards I like the most at a later date.

I continue to set growth goals on Splinterlands, hope that bots will be eliminated completely from Splinterlands, continue to increase the battle strength of my usable card collection in Modern Format where there are no bots, and look forward with much excitement to the fully playable versions of Genesis League Soccer and Soulkeep that will expand the Splinterlands ecosystem

La mia strategia di acquisto per le carte del set Rebellion: Focus sulle Neutral Cards
Il 5 dicembre 2023 è iniziata la general sale del nuovo set Rebellion.
I Rebellion Packs in vendita il primo giorno della general sale erano in totale 9.5 milioni ma a partire dal 5 dicembre è stato attivato un meccanismo di bruciatura che eliminerà ogni giorno il 90% della parte non venduta di un quantitativo di 25K pacchi.
Questo meccanismo di bruciatura diminuirà con molta probabilità il numero totale dei pacchi Rebellion ed eviterà l'errore fatto con il set Chaos Legion che ha prodotto un inflazione generale del valore delle carte.
Infatti in 5 giorni sono stati bruciati 152911 Rebellion Packs e sono stati aperti 418343 pacchi = 2.09 milioni di carte Rebellion.
E' interessante notare che in un intervallo di tempo di 5 giorni:
- è aumentato il valore di mercato dei Rebellion packs su Hive Engine: 3.59$ -> 3.85$
- è aumentato il valore stimato dei Rebellion packs: 3.83$ -> 4.37$
Quando il valore stimato di un pacco Rebellion aumenta in un intervallo di tempo vuol dire che il valore di mercato delle carte Rebellion è mediamente aumentato in quell'intervallo di tempo.
In questa particolare fase in cui le carte Rebellion in circolazione sono ancora poche e il loro prezzo medio è in aumento io preferisco aspettare per acquistare le carte che mi piacciono di più.
In questa fase il mio focus è:
- sullo studiare le statistiche delle carte Rebellion confrontandole con le carte degli altri set che ho già nella mia collezione
- sullo scegliere i miei obiettivi di acquisto
- sul vendere le mie carte Rebellion che non rientrano tra i miei obiettivi di acquisto
- sul vendere le carte dei precedenti set che hanno statistiche inferiori alle carte Rebellion
Oggi inizio a studiare le carte Rebellion per scegliere i miei obiettivi di acquisto futuri e in questo post condivido le mie valutazioni e considerazioni.
Ho deciso di procedere per elemento e oggi ho iziato a guardare le carte Rebellion dell'elemento nuetrale.
Ho scelto di iniziare dalle carte dell'elemento neutrale perchè queste sono le carte che possono essere utilizzate con tutti gli evocatori e per questo motivo tra una carta neutrale e una carta di un elemento che hanno statistiche simili scelgo sempre di acquistare la carta neutrale anche se ha un prezzo maggiore perchè potrò utilizzarla con più frequenza nelle mie battaglie di gioco.
Per visualizzare tutte le carte neutrali del set Rebellion mi piace utilizzare la sezione CARDS dell'utile sito Splintercards.
Fanno parte del set Rebellion 12 carte neutrali: 10 carte neutrali + 2 carte neutrali Promo
Ho utilizzato la sezione CARDS di Splintercards per avere una prima visione veloce e compatta di tutte le carte neutrali del set Rebellion con le statistiche massime.
Per scegliere i miei obiettivi di acquisto mi piace utilizzare la funzionalità CARDS BY LEAGUE CAP che mi permette di vedere le carte con le statistiche massime utilizzabili nella lega in cui gioco.
Infatti io gioco nelle leghe Gold del Modern Format
Le carte che posso utilizzare nelle mie battaglie di gioco hanno un livello inferiore al livello massimo come puoi vedere dalla informazioni nella tabella seguente.
Grazie a Splintercards posso vedere velocemente le statistiche massime di ogni carta del set Rebellion utilizzabile nelle leghe Gold in cui generalmente gioco.
Oggi ho inizio a valutare le statistiche di gioco delle carte neutrali di rarità comune:
- Grimbardun Fighter
- Nimbledook Ranger
- Chaos Lackey
- Ulundin Overseer
Tra le carte neutrali di rarità comune del set Rebellion non ci sono carte che aumenterebbero di molto le mie probabilità di vincere una battaglia rispetto alle carte che ho già nella mia collezione di carte.
Mi piacciono entrambe le carte Grimbardun Fighter (livello 8) e Nimbledook Ranger (livello 8) ma non sono carte che secondo me sposterebbero gli equilibri di una battaglia nelle leghe Gold perchè sono molto utili solo in presenza di precise regole di battaglia e per questo motivo non saranno miei obiettivi di acquisto con priorità alta.
Lo stesso discorso vale per Chaos Lackey che penso non utilizzerei quasi mai in battaglia perchè ha solo 1 punto di attacco al livello 8 e al suo posto preferirei quasi sempre utilizzare altre carte.
Tra le carte neutrali comuni del set Rebellion l'unica carta che mi piace di più è Ulundin Overseer perchè potrei utilizzarla come tank in prima posizione e potrei utilizzare in seconda posizione un secondo tank perchè grazie all'abilità Flank di Ulundin Overseer la carta in seconda posizione acquisisce l'abilità Reach e può attaccare dalla seconda posizione.
Alcune combinazioni a cui ho pensato sono:
- Ulundin Overseer + Grum Flameblade in una battaglia con la ruleset Reverse Speed
- Ulundin Overseer + Coastal Sentry + Merdaali Guardian
Ho quindi individuato un mio primo possibile obiettivo di acquisto/upgrade: Ulundin Overseer di livello 8.
Nella mia collezione ho 2 BCX di Uludin Overseer e per portarlo al livello 8 dovrei acquistare 218 BCX e spendere 24.83$
Ulundin Overseer è un mio obiettivo di upgrade ma non è un obiettivo prioritario per me e aspetterò che il suo prezzo per BCX diminuisca prima di acquistare altri BCX.
In base alle valutazioni che ho fatto oggi ho deciso di mettere subito in vendita:
- 2 Grimbardun Fighter di livello 1
- 1 Nimbledook Ranger di livello 1
Nel set Rebellion ci sono 4 carte neutrali rare.
Moxian Rebel è sicuramente un mio obiettivo di acquisto perchè ha due utili abilità a partire dal livello 4: Weapons Training e Camouflage.
Può essermi molto utile nelle battaglie con la ruleset little league.
La posso utilizzare con il mio evocatore Obsidian per aumentare il suo attacco magico.
La posso utilizzare tra due carte senza attacco per far acquisire 1 punto di attacco magico alle carte adiacenti.
Ho individuato un mio possibile secondo obiettivo di acquisto!
Nella mia collezione ho 1 BCX di Moxian Rebel ma per acquistare altri BCX aspetterò perchè è una carta che ha al momento un prezzo per BCX superiore a 2.10$
Un altro mio obiettivo di acquisto è Mad Ogre Anarchist di livello 6 mentre non penso di acquistare nel breve termine BCXs di Drybone Bowdog perchè ho carte con attacchi dalla distanza migliori nella mia collezione che annullano anche il vantaggio dell'abilità Ambush di Drybone Bowdog.
E' invece un mio obiettivo di acquisto Grimbardun Smith che al livello 6 ha tre abilità: Immunity, Void e Shield che rendono questa carta utile e versatile perchè utilizzabile in presenza di molte rulesets.
Il costo di Grimbardun Smith di livello 6 è relativamente alto: 194.33$
Nel set Rebellion ci sono solo 2 carte neutrali epiche: Pallus e Great Porcupine.
Tra le due carte epiche un mio possibile obiettivo di acquisto potrebbe essere solo Pallus di livello 5 che potrei utilizzare in particolare nelle battaglie che hanno la ruleset Super Sneak dove l'abilità Loockout è molto utile.
Pallus di livello 5 ha un costo = 69.846$
Nel set Rebellion ci sono solo 2 carte neutrali leggendarie e mi piacciono molto entrambe: Nalara Geinek e Mantaroth.
Mi piacerebbe avere nella mia collezione Nalara Geinek di livello 3 che utilizzerei sempre nelle battaglie con la ruleset Weak Magic e in combinazione con carte con le abilità Magic Reflect come ad esempio Djinn Muirat.
Il costo di Nalara Geinek di livello 3 è di 52.26$
Tra le carte neutrali leggendarie la mia preferita è Mantaroth di livello 3
Ho incontrato in battaglia solo due volte Mantaroth e in entrambe le battaglie ho perso.
Grazie all'abilità Armored Strike Mantaroth può attaccare due volte in ogni round e la sua potenza di attacco totale iniziale è = 7 se i suoi punti armatura non vengono ridotti prima del suo attacco.
Ha però una velocità bassa e per questo motivo dovrebbe essere preferibilmente utilizzata in combinazione con carte che hanno l'abilità Taunt per attirare gli attacchi in altre posizioni e preservare il più possibile i suoi punti armatura che però potrebbero essere utilmente aumentati utilizzando carte con l'abilità Protect.
Mi piace Mantaroth perchè gioca bene in presenza di molte rulesets ma ha anche un costo molto alto.
Mantaroth di livello 3 ha un costo = 101.53$
Considerazioni Finali
Oggi ho iniziato a decidere i miei obiettivi di acquisto/upgrade relativi al nuovo set Rebellion per aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte utilizzabile nel Modern Format e per aumentare il mio win rate.
Decidere fin da subito i miei obiettivi di acquisto mi aiuterà ad ottimizzare meglio la mia collezione di carte.
Fin quando le carte Rebellion in circolazione saranno poche non acquisterò le carte dal mercato ma preferirò acquistare i pacchi di carte che aprirò per vendere le carte che non fanno parte della mia lista di obiettivi di acquisto/upgrade.
Nel mio prossimo post condividerò i miei obiettivi di acquisto/upgrade relativi alle carte Rebellion degli altri elementi.
Io continuo a pormi obiettivi di crescita su Splinterlands, spero che i bots siano eliminati completamente da Splinterlands, continuo ad aumentare la forza in battaglia della mia collezione di carte utilizzabile nel Modern Format dove non ci sono i bots e aspetto con molta eccitazione le versioni completamente giocabili di Genesis League Soccer e Soulkeep che espanderanno l'ecosistema di Splinterlands
