I created this account on August 24 of this year. At that time, I just wanted to post my art and didn't take my activities here seriously. With time, I began to earn bigger rewards which shifted my mentality and raised my expectations. I then began to dream bigger and to see what possibilities existed for me with art on the blockchain.
I did not even care about my HP growth until the 12th of November after I'd taken the time to breakdown what real world uses this would have in my life. First on my mind was rent. I value my time a lot. It's one of the things I'm proud and really satisfied about because I know I maximize my productivity and each second counts. It's true that I painted for fun, but it's also true that with time, I also had to sit down to calculate if this fun thing was something that was producing any real value for me and my growth as a person as I do not want to spend so much earning power on things that don't reap an interest.
As I was saying, before I interrupted myself. I set aside for myself a concrete goal of being able to pay my rent in December with the money I would have made on hive. I noted for myself how much hp I had made at that time and I wish I'd also recording my HBD against time, but I did not. So I will just stick with HP for now.
Here is a breakdown of my HP from 12 November to 1 December. My rent is due on 16 December, but I have decided to stop counting down and will explain why shortly.
The HP growth:
| HP | date |
|---|---|
| 56.06hp | 12 Nov |
| 62.535hp | 13 Nov |
| 64.458hp | 14 Nov |
| 64.474hp | 15 Nov |
| 68.352hp | 16 Nov |
| 68.971hp | 17 Nov |
| 75.33hp | 18 Nov |
| 78.283hp | 19 Nov |
| 78.29hp | 20 Nov |
| 81.159hp | 21 Nov |
| 81.89hp | 22 Nov |
| 87.908hp | 23 Nov |
| 89.1hp | 24 Nov |
| 90.356hp | 25 Nov |
| 93.652hp | 26 Nov |
| 93.82hp | 27 Nov |
| 94.821hp | 28 Nov |
| 95.778hp | 29 Nov |
| 100.993hp | 30 Nov |
So, from 12 November to 1 December; a span of 19 days, I have seen an increase by 44.933hp. This was enough for me to conclude that I most likely should expect to see an increase of probably 20hp by the time my rent is due. I'm of course not including the time it takes to power down. It's just an abstract analysis of what could be if this were my HBD which I could easily convert to hive. At the moment, I have about 86.228HBD and with the hive pump, that's quite a substantial amount to have made in three months with a growing account.
My monthly rent is 197 USD. I live in Vinnitsa, Ukraine. As you can tell, I have substantial amount of money from hive to contribute to my rent next month and I'm really pleased about this.
I'm still working on my strategy on the blockchain. The truth is the payouts from hive on each painting, while better than what I've gotten on social media as a growing artist. still falls short of compensating for my time and creativity. It helps me to remember that before I started taking hive seriously, I was doing this solely as a hobby. However, I can see that to make something meaningful here, I have to create consistently and that takes a lot of time and effort. That means I probably will see a reduction in my rewards in the following days as I am not planning to create so frequently. It also can stretch one's patience to be so dependent on upvotes. So, as I've mentioned many times in conversation with my friends, I am big on delegation and I am still researching and deciding on how best to go about it to reap benefits that are more tangible on the blockchain.
Thanks for stopping by!
