After some deliberation for the last few weeks I have decided to get more involved with the rally car project and help get some load off of Guiltyparties and Crimsonclads back.
I have not been involved so far with ValuePlan or the car project but will be heading the organization for at least the next WRC rally, hopefully a few more as well. The goal is to maximize reach and get as many eyes on the car as possible. I also want to develop a replicable solid structure for future events.
The car itself already does its job simply by being seen in front of audiences of millions. Its us that also need to do our job online.
Some information:
- Each rally will take about 6 days out of my life. :)
- We will cover 3000 kilometers / 1800 miles in total (the equivalent to the flight distance between Portugal and Russia)
- 4 days of actual racing and filming.
- At least 1 week of organization.
- 1 week of post production.
I am currently in contact with the WRC and trying to see the maximum value we can extract from them.
Some issues im running into include them rejecting our FIA accreditation for the press passes multiple times, very strict rules about use of action footage, limited WRC+ official footage availability and rules about professional filming on location.
I have to attempt to work around all these issues.
I am currently working on a plan how to deal with this but I can tell you right now what you can most likely expect.
- Professional photography done by an amazing rally photographer, Honza Fronek.
Example of his work. Below and in thumbnail.
- We will be shooting a travel/race blog for the entirety of the event. We expect a 15-20 minute video. We are going up there anyway, why not film everything?
We will be putting that video up onand a new youtube channel called "Wheels and Blocks" I created and intend to put all the shorts and other videos on as well as any future rallies, conferences, film festivals we might attend.
The example of the video (unfortunately they wont be giving us as much official footage as they gave Mikkelsen who is rally2)
You can expect multiple shorts per day that will be put up on Twitter on my account and later put up on youtube and 3speak. We are now working on the concept for these videos taking into account the restrictions we need to function under. There will definitely be 1 highly produced short that we will be putting up at the end of the day alongside the videos we will be putting up live.
There will be a end of event short film. The Aftermovie. It will cover the event with total focus on the Hive car. This again depends on what kind of footage WRC+ gets us and what we are allowed to capture but we hope we will have enough for something cinematic like this. This is an example of what it will look like.
MARKETING: The important part here is to use all that which we create to get more eyes on Hive and the rally car. We will be allocating 1500 HBD to the Hive Zealy campaign headed by
from LeoFinance. Depending on the results we will up that for future rallies.
The goal of the campaign will be to try and force the Twitter algo to place our content as high as possible on the WRC twitter tag. That tag gets medium level engagement so we have a decent chance to achieve that through organic means. We will look to share the videos elsewhere as well.
The tasks completed will focus on engagement and views for:1 daily video over 4 days + Photos we get from Honza

Aftermovie
I will leave Eric to decide the best bang for buck based on our community performance and the structure of the tasks.
Currently there is about 1200 Hive members completing tasks on Zealy and earning money while helping promote Hive. About 200 actively at this moment.
I want to help increase that number so expect a CALL TO ACTION a few days before the rally commences.

- Depending on how fast I can get the merchandise and if we get approved a booth during the event (Im still waiting for the WRC response to that) ill be giving away some shirts and other Hive related memorabilia away to promote Hive a bit. Wer taking a big car so we can fill up the trunk easily.
Please join and help us make these campaigns a success.
The success of Hive doesnt only depend on those heading these efforts, it depends also on the willingness of the community to get involved.
And please follow , our Hive car driver here on Hive for his perspective on things.
