As you may know, I'm currently the managing director for the Foundation for Interwallet Operability or "FIO" for short (some see "FEE-OH" some say "FY-OH", I've always been told "FEE-OH"). The FIO Protocol is a usability layer which has a goal to make all cryptocurrencies easier to use.
Instead of long, complicated cryptocurrency addresses for your BTC or ETH or keeping track of your Hive or EOS account names, you can just have one human readable address like luke@stokes for all your cryptocurrencies. You can also do decentralized, encrypted payment requests with memos.
