If you want to know the challenge I am doing in October, check out this link Can you survive on a college budget?. It sounded like an extreme measure compared to my current spending habit but I am up doing this challenge for fun and to see how much I saved up and what are the hidden cost of doing this challenge and being extreme penny-pinchers.
As a note, I hate penny-pinchers, they are the worst. I lived with some of them and I would never ever want to live with one again. However, this challenge is mimicing their life. I am not sure how much I am going to miss all the cravings and all the good food but let's just do this. So, my budget is set. It is 5$ which equivalent to 74,466IDR and that is going to be the money I am going to spend weekly for this month.
Since today is my first day, I am going to try shop some food and fill up my pantries. I still have some coffee, sugar, red rice, oatmeal and wholemeal pasta. So, these definitely will reduce my spending. I will do no take-away because it may exceed my budget real quick.
As for this challenge, I am going to update twice a week and whenever I am making a big purchase. Like today, I went outside and make some purchase for this week.
This is the kind of noodle I normally eat and these thing cost 2$ so byeee
Instead, I choose these. If you see the sign 1000, that the price of the noodle. It cost 1000 idr/packet and has the lowest amount natrium compared to Indomie and other brands.
I'd also like to save up to purchase egg and bread since they seem better options than instant noodles. I may also need to purchase some fruits and meat once a week but we'll see how it fits my tight budget.
These are variants of Indomie. It's quite known that this noodle is the broke days meal. They have plenty flavors that replicates some of Indonesian signature dishes. Anyhow, in the end, I spend about 7900IDR as I also purchased a bag of sanitary pads.
