No cheesecake here; no beefcake, either. Just prices and projects. PRICES: BTC, ETH and HIVE are on winning streaks in terms of their closing prices, so now we see if they continue their winning streaks. PROJECTS: The "Closing Prices of Some Cryptos" series continues its featured Hive project (in this case, hive.ausbit.dev). This post will show the closing prices for some cryptos as of 2022 January 27.

hive.ausbit.dev.Closing Prices for Some Cryptos, 2022 January 27
This is the reason for this post!
| Crypto | USD (Previous) | 27 January 2022 | 24h Trend | Streak |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin | 36,870.000 | 37,277.000 | UP ↗ | W3 |
| Ethereum | 2,470.430 | 2,411.860 | DOWN ↘ | L1W1L1 |
| Litecoin | 107.020 | 107.210 | UP ↗ | L2W1 |
| HBD | 0.976 | 0.990 | UP ↗ | W1L1W1 |
| Hive | 0.877 | 0.895 | UP ↗ | W3 |
| Cub Finance | 0.241 | 0.249 | UP ↗ | W1L1W1 |
Closing Prices come from their respective Historical Data pages at CoinGecko.com.
- BTC and HIVE extend their winning streaks to 3, and LTC is in the W column for the first time in this series.
- ETH is back to losing, so the next close we'll see if it is alternating W's and L's.
- However, both HBD and CUB each are reflections of ETH, so next close we see if they establish an alternating pattern as well.
Why Those Cryptos?
Bitcoin and Ethereum
As I prepare this post, the combined market dominance of Bitcoin and Ethereum close to 57%. That's reason enough.
HIVE and Hive-Based Dollar
As the cryptos we earn at Hive Social regardless of our community or tribal affiliations, it's natural for these to be included here. With more projects coming online in 2022, there will be more ways for us to earn HIVE and HBD. Just as important, we'll have more ways to engage with each other.
Cub Finance
CUB is the child who grew up and went away to travel the world and the seven seas because everyone is looking for something. It's a DeFi product from Hive which went to reside on Binance Smart Chain. While CUB closed higher, it's still on sale, so buy while supplies last!
Litecoin
While hive.ausbit.dev covers the EOS price, I chose to cover the Litecoin price. Since I began to use Litecoin to bring money into Hive Engine in November 2021, I've taken an interest to it. Although it's a direct hard fork from Bitcoin capped at 84 million LTC, it hasn't the love (or lust?) which Bitcoin has received. For those reasons I believe that Litecoin is criminally undervalued. When it comes to fees, it beats Ethereum.
Something To Read Besides a Table
When magazines were in their heyday as physical publications, some people bought certain magazines for the articles while others bought those same magazines for their visual media (and a few twisted people even bought that very magazine for its joke section). Just as those magazines offerred something for everyone, I'm taking that approach here. Some people will read this post for the Coin Prices covered here, and others will read this post to learn a bit about some project or other in the Hive ecosystem. It just makes sense that the first project featured here is hive.ausbit.dev.
Today's Bit about hive.ausbit.dev
Searching for a transaction is as easy as it can get. If you have a trnsaction ID-- TX ID-- handy, just enter it into the search field, submit the TX ID, and details for the transaction will appear in a new page:
Click the image for a full-size view
Things to note about using hive.ausbit.dev to search for a transaction by its TX ID:
- The TX ID is so long that roughly half of it is visible in the search field.
- The URL leading to details about that transaction with that TX ID is made from 3 pieces separated by slashes:
- the domain name;
- the letters "tx"; and
- the entire TX ID.
The TX ID page also noted the block number containing this transaction, and it provides a link to that block. The other way of visiting the block number page is to search for the block by its number.
The next post will show what happens when searching using a block number.
Just My Two Sats
Some cryptos have streaks of only W's or only L's. Others are bouncing between W and L, so they are close to entering a pattern of alternating W's and L's.
Looking for details about a transaction is easy with hive.ausbit.dev if you have the TX ID handy.
Searching for details about a block should be just as easy, and the next post will show how it's done from the search field.
