Greetings, fellow sentient beings!
This one is going to be about problems, problems, solutions, and opportunities. But it will start with problems.
I shall try to illustrate with a most recent happenstance within our home and then switch to business related issues.
As you can see from the picture, we had a small, domestic-scale problem that erupted out of nowhere...
I mean, the water leaking from that burst water metering device was too warm, near hot, so the paper my ship was made of did not last long before it was soaked all through. A catastrophe was imminent.
Fortunately, my career as a freelance photographer has thought me that...photography in general has thought me that problems have solutions waiting to be found. Each problem was an opportunity to find a solution and get new results. One only needed not despair.
For instance, I have thought of shooting long photo sessions with paper ships which had to stay...just stay through the whole session without being destroyed by their contact with water. And I was thinking of covering them with some kind of liquid wax, easy to be applied by brush.
Also recently, I found out that some crayons for children were made with lots of wax in them. So...the first thing that I thought of were my ship problems.
Did you know that shipping companies all around the globe were scrapping most of their fleets near the end of 2020?
Does that bother you?
Anyway...
Sometimes...sometimes the best solution is to study the problem for a while and wait for a phase or two. Something new might happen before you have to react. That depends on the side you are on, of course. If you were on that ship, you would be rushing for the lifeboats.
But from a philosophical point of view, the problem with the sinking ship was resolved when...
...our of nowhere again...
... a Kraken appeared just in time to swallow the problem.
Now, in business, you generally want to prevent your ship from sinking or being swallowed by any "Krakens", if you get my meaning.
While I was about to voice my complaint about me wishing there were weekends without problems jumping out of nowhere to be solved, I remembered I had chosen to train for a situation in which I shall be solving the problem of 50+ lazy people and shrinking productivity...on a daily basis before the year is over. I'm like a sideboard card of a Magic: The Gathering deck. Like a player waiting to stand up from the bench and join the game in the second half. But in reality you don't know if that would be a half, a longer or a shorter period.
While sitting on the bench, after being trained some...some by life so far and some by the current training process I am undergoing, I welcome problems that need solving. Because each and every one of them represents the opportunity for making things better for everybody. When things seem like they are reaching the bottom, some have the opportunity to use their own muscles and push up from there. I am strengthening my mind's muscles, aren't I?
Time shall tell. Practice should...do fine. Problems shall be found the solutions of and development shall continue.
The device that burst and now leaks water shall be replaced...a week from now.
Because this is how a clumsy giant of a company moves. meanwhile, I am doing my best to learn how to make my team flexible.
Peace be upon you!
Yours,
Manol
