News and Opinion: July 6, 2022. Dutch Farmers Demonstrate Against Government's Green Agenda

The Dutch government has a plan to reduce nitrogen emissions between 30-70%. This did not set well with Dutch farmers and they started to protest. This would mean less use of fertilizer and less livestock.

So far, the protests have included road blocks and the blocking of distribution hubs. Fishermen are also joining the protests since the limitations in nitrogen emissions also affects them
