Th cotton price is measured in US$ per 100 pounds. The price of cotton has increased to about 113 US$ per 100 pounds, higher than th 2010-2011 boom, but still not as high as the value of 148 US$ per 100 pounds of May 2022.
The surge in price is related to a megadrought in Texas, which has determined a crop estimate cut by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). This will result in an increase in clothing prices, at the time of strong inflationary pressures.
