News: January 1, 2023. Zimbabwe Bans Lithium Exports

The African country of Zimbabwe has banned all lithium exports. The government made the decision based on its estimates that say that the country loses 1.7 billion euros by exporting the raw lithium and by not processing it into batteries.

Zimbabwe is the African country with the largest lithium reserves. as of 2020, Zimbabwe was the 6th lithium producer, producing 1.4% of the world's lithium.
