News: November 14, 2022. The Energy Crisis in Pakistan is Severe

Pakistan will be rationing natural gas for households during the winter months. The rationing will consist on making available natural gas for 8 hours during the day and unavailable during 16 hours. Pakistan cannot afford the buy LNG and coal due to the high international prices.

Europe has been outbidding Asian countries such as India, Pakistan and Bangladesh for LNG supply as it has made an effort to secure gas supply as pipeline gas from Russia has decreased.

This energy rationing will be fuel for social unrest in an already politically troubled country.
