Kings of Leon embrace NFT
Reported in the Rolling Stones magazine kings of Leon will make music history by releasing their latest album solely as a NFT.
The token won't just surround the release of the album the group will be launching three separate tokens with different use cases.
It will be apart of their "NFT Yourself" and include a token for purchasing their music, a token for attending gigs and purchasing tickets to live shows with a third token for audiovisual art.
NET'S or known as Non Fungible Tokens have taken the art space by storm and have been picking up popularity amongst artists. This latest announcement will further drive their popularity amongst crypto enthusiasts and investors alike and being the first band to ever take such a risk will have it's perks.
The bands album When you see yourself will feature on the NFT debute and I'm about to head over to look for investment opportunities.
The distinction between NFT and traditional cryptocurrancy is that they don't hold financial value but art. Which is a little odd as you still require fiat to purchase.
But I'm sure its a way to keep the tax man off artists back. A sector massively underfunded so let's hope NFT provide a financial staple so that artists can continue arting!
