My crypto journey began in 2016, and I've bought my share of shitcoins. Some were true shitcoins that brought me nothing but tears and shame. Well, not actually because at the time I wouldn't ever buy more than 30-40 dollars worth, and not because I was smart but because I didn't have any more money to invest.
The tears and shame add to the drama.

Some other coins and tokens did a better job, despite being shitcoins. Lucky for me, I was more fortunate than shamed and in tears. I'd be crying with joy for having turned 30 dollars into 150 or more. Damn I was lucky back then. (OHHH, the memories! Haha)
Anyway, I didn't come here to talk about how lucky I was back then. Or how many shitcoins I bought and saw go downhill faster than a rabbit hunted by a fox. Nope. I actually wanted to blatantly shill another coin. I am not calling it a shitcoin this time though. I've learned to treat things with respect these days.
So a few weeks ago, I accidentally stumbled upon a Tweet by shilling a coin by the name SUZUME. I spent a few months of my life in Japan, and I immediately recognized the word that means 'Sparrow', because a dear friend of mine in Tokyo went by the same name. I happen to love sparrows...
Call it a hunch, or call it stupidity, I decided to investigate the coin a bit further and I discovered that at the time, it was only a few days old. 3 or 4 I believe.
I joined the telegram group, and read the developer's medium posts and everything else I could find. Which wasn't much.
What got my attention though, was the rapidly growing, and dedicated Telegram group. BOY did they shill their asses off on Twitter. I'd soon join their ranks as master Shiller...
At this point, one SUZUME was worth $0.0000023, so a little bit of money would get you a lot. I didn't hesitate because, by that time, the FOMO in me, and the little hunch had gotten the best of me. I managed to buy $45 dollars worth of the coins for that low price. Only hours later, I decided that this amount was peanuts, and I added another $100 dollars to that. By the end of the next day, my little investment of $145 dollar had doubled in value. I waited till it dipped a little, and added another $100 to it. Five of which was my daughter's money because she wanted to get in on the game.
Unfortunately, last weekend, my Metamask wallets were raided, and with it all the SUZUME tokens as well. The thief should have waited to sell though...I guess they were in it for quick profits.
However, this didn't hold me back. I didn't have any money left (I mean that. Everything I had was gone) so I had to wait for my Hive power-down to come in, and I managed to buy another $60 dollars worth of SUZUME. At this point, at a much higher price than what I had initially bought it for but still worth the investment in my opinion. It's already worth $100 right now...
Some people would call me stupid for spending all the money I had on a token like this. Again. But I haven't done this without giving it a good thought or two.
Their telegram group is one of the most enthusiastic group of people I've seen in a long time. They shill this token 24/7 to Twitter posts. I got carried away a bit myself and would be shilling my way around Twitter too.
As a result, I now have one follower with more than 82k followers, and one with 35k. I never knew that shilling a tiny market cap token could bring me big followers like that. So in the back of my mind, I thought: "Hey, if I ever need to get some attention on some project, it's nice to have those people back me up."
I mean, when someone with over 100k followers likes your Tweet like below, my heart starts beating a little faster. Call me shallow and sue me. However, to me, it means that some of those huge accounts are taking the little swallow quite seriously.
But that's not all. There are more big eyes on SUZUME. Lots of Shiba Inu people are keeping a close eye on the little bird as well as huge accounts on Twitter. A few of those are in the Telegram group, working just as hard as anyone there to get the word out.
Taking my chances
When I first came into the crypto space, I passed on Dogecoin. Because it really didn't appeal to me, at all.
Then later, people kept telling me to buy Shiba Inu.
I was very fucking stubborn at the time, telling them that I would never spend my hard-earned money on a stupid meme-coin.
Well, guess what? If I wouldn't have been such a know-it-all nitwit, a $100 dollar investment back then would have made me a multi-millionaire. That's not smart. That's stupid.
So this time, I felt I owed it to myself to do this.
After all, in the past, I'd been quite lucky with some of the coins and tokens that didn't have nearly the same number of people who shilled the living crap out of it as this one has.
It sure feels great to be part of something that's growing hugely and organically through community efforts. Anyone on Hive should know that feeling.
Let's just see where this thing goes.
I believe this sparrow can fly much higher than this.
And some others think so too:
I'll be here for it.
If it fails, it won't be because of a lack of community effort, that's for sure.
The second thing that it has done, is that I remembered that some of these tokens and coins had been a lucky guess to me, so I've decided that I'll be on the lookout for other potential low-cap gems out there. And guess what? I already found some...
Don't worry, you'll hear about it in future posts.
