The situation in Ukraine is getting worse by the minute, could go from very bad to much worse quite quickly and there’s so little most of us can do about it, my heart goes out to all Ukrainians living in Ukraine.
The markets have been nothing but dramatic through all this, but who’ll blame them, if we think about it, internet money doesn’t really matter much when there’s no internet in the first place,
As a result, Gold is taking the center stage of the market as the world goes crazy, numerous clips on social media today were showing Ukrainians rushing and queuing for food supplies and water.
I’ve read from friends in Ukraine who have gone into hiding in bunkers, you know the worst of it is that it looks like...this, all this, is only just the beginning. The only thing holding back a full fledged war is Ukraine’s indecision in joining NATO and Putin is really pushing it.
So, putting myself in the shoes of someone in Ukraine, I’ll need supplies and I’ll be needing funds to do all that, I might have to sell off some of my crypto to do all that!...... so I can understand why there might be some downward pressure in the markets.
But then again, looking at the situation of things from another angle, having wads of cash is basically only useful for a limited time, plus I doubt there will be any use for the cash inside a bunker.
You know, the crazy thing is that we don’t even know how long this will last for, though we hope it will end as soon as possible, what if it actually escalates? With everything happening, the situation seems to be getting really messy.
During these recent times, we’ve seen countless attempts by governments preposterously freezing peoples bank accounts at whim....before Bitcoin came into existence, there was no other option, we can very much say governments had the supreme power over citizens,
There was gold, but it wasn’t scalable like Bitcoin, Bitcoin really does put that power back into the hands of people by giving them full control as an alternative borderless currency with ability to transact through it without third party. So, while I see reasons for an average person to panic sell, I see even more reasons to not sell.
This is why I strongly feel that this present decline in price of Bitcoin is rather temporary. Crypto markets will recover faster than stocks because of what has been built in the cryptospace.
I hope for peace and calm in the world as soon as possible, but in the meantime, I’ll be accumulating as usual, and if my fav tokens get low enough, I’ll be picking up a bunch of them.
