There have been a few different posts recently about different marketing strategies for Hive. I appreciate all the work put in by people like ,
,
and others, and I wanted to offer up my some of my thoughts on the subject. In doing so, I'm not suggesting that my ideas are better or more feasible than anything out there, but maybe having the conversation might lead to an even better idea.
I have wondered what it would take to get some celebrity to move exclusively to Hive. Sirius did that with Howard Stern and though I wouldn't have expected it to work, it seems that it must have as they just renewed his contract again. I remember before he switched thinking that he was going to lose so many fans. I was one of them because I didn't want to get the satellite radio, but apparently many people did. Could we do something similar with Hive? Of course, it would have to be someone with a huge following and the ability to push their followers to hive. Maybe we could rent exclusivity for like a month. Just thoughts.
We could target people with a minimum number of twitter followers or youtube subscribers and have them move their content exclusively to Hive for a month or maybe a week depending on how much content they produce. I imagine we would just have to cover their expected earnings for the period. I'm not sure how much those type of people make from those types of things, but it might be a smaller fee than other methods. We could even start with smaller accounts like at least 10k twitter followers.
If they like their experience on Hive, they might even use it and promote it afterwards, especially when things like censorship or blockchain pop up in the news.
Another avenue that I saw recently could be a delegation from the DHF if that is possible. If we could get people on with the promise of being able to reward their supporters, that would be great. It would be a win win because they would also stand to gain more fans.
Anyway, what are your thoughts?
