I mentioned yesterday that there would be an announcement - here it is.
It has become clear that my health is not as robust as it once was. Nothing to do with the fake kovid skam, although its social consequences are unhelpful. I have been managing funds such as MPATH for almost 4 years and, although I have learnt a lot doing so, I am also aware that the returns are not really commensurate with the time needed to ensure the highest profitability. I also feel that the bulk of the investments are locked in for far too long. So, I feel it is better I wind down MPATH while I still can.
I do have an assistant who is now able to process funds, but is not really experienced enough to manage the funds. I shall be starting a new token soon that will be far more liquid in structure. The concepts of delegations and voting remain good for a social ecosystem, but there are more profitable and liquid systems out there.
So, here is the plan going forward.
Rewards will continue for 6 weeks then stop. The last such payout will be on Sunday 21 November, 2021.
The buyback price shall now be fixed at 0.600 HIVE.
Votes shall be given out manually and almost daily, more or less like recently, so some members will be getting more than their MPATH holdings. These too will stop on the same date in 6 weeks. Because of their non-algorithmic nature, I shall no longer be publishing the vote estimate calculations, instead just presenting the payout APR.
This will take us to about halfway through the 13-week power-down. There is no need to panic sell, although everyone is welcome to sell at below par value - someone else will surely happily buy them. But this is a market, so the easiest way is to just place a sell order - it will be processed as soon as there are liquid SWAP.HIVE tokens. There is plenty of cash, as can be seen in the weekly accounts posted, so that everyone will be able to cashout at par value.
Thanks to all members who have been active, both as buyers and bloggers. Apologies to anyone who has joined recently, but growth has been sluggish at best, and adding up the votes, I trust nobody will have lost anything.
If I was to sum up the changes in one sentence, it would be that maximising profitability sometimes means reducing dependencies. My focus has been on other systems and I shall launch a new token soon.
