Greetings everyone
I would channel my attention on two blockchain platforms out of the numerous in existence which is Tezo and quorum.
Tezo is a decentralized block chain, it has a digital token called tezzie or tez
Unlike ethereum and ripple, tezo do not engage in the mining of tez and so therefore the digital token holders just receive rewards for partaking in the system, the primary aim of tezo is to engage the ability of the token holders to unite and work on a common goal enhancing the system
The tezo system upgrades in a decentralized pattern after going through tremendous testing and approvals from the token holders
Quorum is almost similar to ethereum, I can say it is an upgrade of etheruem in a layman language, with quorum transactions can be confidential and private transactions can be done with speed, so for example in an organization where detailed transactions are meant to remain a secret, quorum is advisable
Now we may think quorum is just for private transactions but no, it works in a public transaction system just like ethereum and when you need a private transaction, you go through the privacy manager
Having given a brief description of the two aforementioned block chain platforms, I will give a detailed comparison between the two platforms on a few parameters
- Ledger type:
quorum uses a permissioned ledger type which is an extra security system to enable them endorse transaction between identifiable participants while Tezo uses a permissionless ledger type this is because tezo is a public block chain platform and does not require access or permission to transact with.
2) Smart contract functionality :
this is a law kind of digital contract that ensures that transactions are credible and accurate without the involvement of a third party
Quorum doesn't make use of the smart contract functionality system while on the other hand Tezo makes good use of the smart contract functionality system.
3) consensus algorithm:
it a system in which the block chain network agrees on a common data and trust the participants
There are a few types of consensus algorithm
POW (Proof of Work)
POS (Proof of Stake)
DPOS (Delegated Proof of Stake)
PBFT (Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance)
DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph)
Tezo uses DPOS(Delegated Proof of Stake) which is a system or protocol that gives approval to transactions on the block chain whereby participants vote and elect to create the next block while
Quorum uses Majority Voting for example if we are 10 people in a class , A majority vote will be 6 out of 10 that is how the quorum block chain works it calculates the majority vote using space and time
Conclusion:
both the Tezo and the quorum are unique in their respective ways and therefore depends on your approach to their protocol
