Trust me, if you're just starting out with no background knowledge it's better to forget about the gurus, experts, and spectators in any field you might find yourself in today, especially one that relates to finance.
When most people want to start managing their finances which I believe only starts after leaving school(for most people)is that they mostly have nowhere to start from and neither do they know the basics so they choose to do everything they are being told by these experts.
And with the public today they choose to go to the pros and popular experts they can find on YouTube, TikTok, and other social platforms. And when it comes to money and crypto most are on X chilling something or another and most times this is why many people get rekd.
However, this can be different with those with more experience because they would be discerning and skeptical about any information any experts gave to them.
It's also important to remember that most of these experts would tell you to do your own research but most times there's no way to do research and the beginners think that listening to what they hear means they are doing their own research.
This is because many want to start from somewhere, but personally I don't think that’s the best option to begin with because most times many don’t have the time to make their findings.
But then,if you don't start from somewhere, then you are sure to go nowhere.
I've seen many people today who I know are well aware of Crypto, Hive, and investing in assets. But what many see as a problem before getting started is that they want to start well. Meaning, many don't want to fail or make mistakes.
But TBH I think what many want is that they aim to know everything and also have an edge so that they can be able to minimize and manage their risk.
It's all a risk
This is normal. However, just as little kids would have to first take a few steps and fall times without numbers…we as humans also have to make some sacrifices.
It could be our time or money that we would have to give up to find a common ground to start what it is we are willing to get into.
For instance, crypto is a complicated space and with my little time here, people who are making it big and bringing in more people to this space all started from somewhere. They, too, didn't have all the info, nor do they know everything about the space first, before getting started.
They simply want to start
Which I believe is the hardest-part
Although it is better to have some basic knowledge about what we are getting into, but very often you see people today who want to have all the best cards.
This isn't going to work out because even if you have the best cards and the best knowledge about crypto, Hive or investing, you might still find yourself in a situation that you are well aware about beforehand but still fail to apply and act on to make something better out of it.
For example, most of the investors in the crypto world know about the bear market harsh reality and how it's also best to take profits when the bulls come, but TBH most times these sets of crypto enthusiasts frequently find themselves not making the right choices even though they've got the proper knowledge about these scenarios.
Now, with that, it's why I find it funny when a newbie just getting started wants to know everything about the space before he or she gets started. The thing is you've got to start somewhere, and every so often you just have to keep clicking every button and watch what happens.
This is how growth occurs, but every so often, we as humans want the shortcuts to success. I had a brief back and forth conversation with a friend today online, and he was pressing me on what type of crypto project or community he or she can join to get more involved in this space.
I laughed because this is someone who knows about Hive and crypto and also knows what it is he or she can share to Hive to get more exposure in the crypto space and not only hive, but he's still searching for something else while omitting what's starting at him in the face.
Furthermore, I told him the rule are simple. Just get active, show up and do something. In fact, this also applies to not only hive but also in life as you've got to show up in all your relationships with friends and families because merely reading about how to treat your family and friends better in a book won't transform the relationship or make any real changes to it.
Information is power, but it becomes intelligence only when used and utilized in any possible way we can. And we can't always get it right because life doesn't work that way and mistakes are inevitable, but we've got to learn from them and move on.
Knowing everything alone won't help. Applying the little you know does.
Until next time
