The year of 2022 has been quite favorable for the GCC Countries in terms of the economic growth with the high oil prices and now towards the end of the year the FIFA world cup being organized in Qatar which is going to favor all the neighboring countries as well.

The newspapers mention that there is a lot of pressure from the US to lower the oil prices in terms of securing cheaper gas but the GCC countries have taken a stand to maintain the prices at a comfortable level. End of 2021 the newspapers were not giving out very good messages in terms of economic growth due to the 2 years of pandemic effects, but lately the messages have been positive for the economic growth of the Country. GCC countries are the middle east countries who are the major exporters of oil to the world.

The last 2 years have left a big dent to every Country in the world but some have done fairly well in the year 2022. There are still many countries who feel a lot of pressure firstly due to the pandemic, then the Ukraine war and topping it up with the high oil prices. So for the ones who are importing it is not the most favorable situation.

The other favorable position this year that the GCC has is the FIFA world cup which is going to be in Qatar. It is a small country and has it's own limitations in terms of hosting so many viewers who will come to see the world cup. The neighboring countries like UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia are all going to benefit because people will consider visiting these places if they do not find an arrangement in Qatar. Oman is already hosting so many large groups from Argentina during the world cup. The hotels are already getting full. Again Oman is a beautiful country and with no restrictions so people will consider visiting this place as well. The flights are already getting full. Qatar Airlines again has a limited fleet and time and again they have taken help of Oman Air in meeting their demands. For surely Oman Air is also going to benefit from this and Tourism of the Country as well. My husband works for Oman Air on a senior position and he has been mentioning that they are already reaching back again to the Air traffic which were during the pre-pandemic times. Which ideally was expected that it would take somewhere around 5 years to come back to normal.

The year is going to end on a good note and the Oman economy is going to get stronger.
