The British car manufacturing industry estimates that it will lose over $ 74 billion in the next five years from the reduction in car production if Britain does not reach an agreement with the European Union!
Carmakers warn for the need of a quick deal before the new year with the European Union because otherwise they will be forced to comply with World Trading Organization rules. In order to do that, they will have to make lay-offs as the industry has taken a downturn and they will have no choice.
A 1.4% fall of production, was recorded for November, meaning 106,243 cars were produced, compared to 107,744 in the corresponding month of the previous year.
A total of 849,246 cars were built in the 11 months of 2020, a number that is 31% lower than in the same period last year.
As we understand Britain is in a very difficult position since the coronavirus paralyzes everything in Britain and it will be difficult to reach an agreement with Europe! All parties want a quick resolution but none is willing to take a step back from their position.
