One of the sectors that was brutally affected by the coronavirus is the aviation sector.
All airlines have been hit so hard that they are ready to go bankrupt. An airline has huge operating costs no matter if airplanes fly or not.
They are getting to the point where they ask from their customers not to demand refunds for canceled flights due to covid-19 but to accept credit coupons (voucher) so “maybe” they can reduce their losses.
Of course, before they started pleading customers now, they were forcing customers to accept vouchers or wait at least 9 months for their cash refunds, without asking anyone and in violation of EU customer protection rules that clearly state that passengers have the right to demand a refund to be paid within two weeks of cancelation.
Also another question I have is if they must take state aid or not since the European Union with a prefecture forbids this. And how safe will travel from now on be?
